🚧 Street and Parking Lot Sealing Begins October 18

Lake Havasu City will begin street and parking lot sealing operations on Sunday, October 18, as part of its ongoing pavement preservation program. Work is expected to continue for approximately one week.

Motorists should expect traffic delays, lane restrictions and temporary closures. Several City park parking lots will also close for approximately 24 hours while the surface treatment cures.

📍 Scheduled park parking lot closures:

• October 18: Aquatic Center
• October 19: SARA Park Trailhead
• October 21: Cypress Park South
• October 22: Cypress Park East

Residents on streets scheduled for sealing should remove parked vehicles during operations and avoid releasing water into the roadway. Please follow all posted signs, traffic control devices and directions from flaggers. Do not walk or drive on treated surfaces until they are reopened.

Whether you’re still in high school or beginning to explore a new career, there is a pathway that can take you from interest to education, training, employment, and a lifelong career in the Fire Service.

𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗹𝘆 through Lake Havasu High Schools CTE programs in both Fire & EMS.

𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝘂𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗷𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗲𝘆 through our Apprenticeship Program, where you can receive paid training and support while completing your EMT-B certification and Fire I & II certifications.

𝗧𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗻𝗲𝘅𝘁 𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗽 toward employment as a Firefighter/Paramedic Trainee and continue your education through Paramedic School.

𝗕𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗮 𝗙𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗳𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝗲𝗿/𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰 after earning your Paramedic certification—and from there, your career is just beginning.

Due to malfunctioning air conditioning units, Oro Grande students were dismissed early today at 1:00 p.m. As a result, the Lake Havasu City Parks and Recreation Afterschool Program at Oro Grande is canceled for the remainder of today.

𝗔𝗹𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗮𝘃𝗮𝗶𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲! Families wishing to continue after-school care may transport their children to the 𝗔𝗾𝘂𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗰 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿, where the Afterschool Program will operate until 𝟲:𝟬𝟬 𝗽.𝗺.

Please note that Parks and Recreation will not provide transportation. Parents and guardians are responsible for transporting their children from Oro Grande to the Aquatic Center.

This change affects 𝗢𝗿𝗼 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗲 𝗼𝗻𝗹𝘆. All other Afterschool Program locations will operate as scheduled.

🐾 PAW & ORDER: Dogs in Hot Cars 🚔

Leaving a dog in a vehicle can quickly become dangerous, even if the air conditioning is running. Temperatures inside a car can rise 20° in just a few minutes, putting your pet at risk of heatstroke or death.
