Throwback to my OOTDs At World Pride in DC.
Was feeling’ myself.

Alsoooo, more projects are coming. I met the most inspiring activists from all over Asia and the world, (I don’t have selfies with everyone), I met activists who sat on Thailand’s same-sex marriage committee. A huge step not just for Thailand but really the rest of Asia as well. And guess what, every activist I met is SO YOUNG but doing SO MUCH. So never let your age or lack of experience steal your power.

Be young and restless.

And to my new friends, I can’t wait to see what you do next.

The time I took Applied Improvisation all the way to the UN in Beijing. Definitely a career highlight. This was August 2020 a short period of freedom between the two major Covid lockdowns in Shanghai.

I represented Zmack Shanghai and was invited by my dear friend @arnaudzaishanghai who worked at UNDP at the time. I had worked with UNDP on multiple LGBTQ and ADV events and initiatives but my first time invited as a guest!

Applied improvisation as a basis for conflict resolution and embracing change, especially through the absolute chaos we were all experiencing in the moment. In a time of isolation, unresolvable anxiety and stress, the ability to move your body with each other, connect, and laugh is so precious.

I have even used applied improvisation in my live Diversity & Inclusion trainings in @dnicglobal, to help participants build trust through various theater and improv games.

I miss my time in Shanghai, we lived through the golden days. But I’m excited for what’s in store for the future doing what I love ❤️

Even the UN does improv!

Vegas Voice Actors Community’s first Mixer was a hit!

The real ones came, talked shop, and we all exchanged some valuable information. Thank you all for coming last night, hope we can create a healthier voice acting community together and find ways to support each other!

I’ve added some links to online VO resources in my linktree, applicable for all of US. Trying to do a better job at consolidating free resources for voice actors starting out. I know some folks outside of Vegas have had interest too.

Hopefully first of many! Stay tuned!

I am sooooo excited to congratulate five amazing actors for getting #booked all at once! (*patting self on the back*) Our five actors booked 7 of the 11 roles we auditioned for, totally badasses! I was literally having zoomies at home because of how happy some of these folks were and I got to be part of it, hehe. I can’t say what game we are recording, except that it’s AAA baby, and…a serendipitous tribute to one of greats RIP. It’s honestly wild, because Mark & I were part of the prequel remaster in Shanghai in 2020 with a completely different studio.

Congratulations tooooo:

@will.grams.vo on your first video game booking!!! It has been over a year since his demo and since he first started auditioning for me, however Will is a veteran voice actor doing commercials and corporate videos decades ago and it’s been 15 yrs since it’s been his dream to be in a video game. I got to see his adorable tearful joyous reaction by video and it made me cry too. I’m saving it and looking at it on days I need a pick-me-up.

@chinzerfaust on your second booking now and hopefully more to come. You are so incredibly talented it’s honestly an honour to get to work with you! I couldn’t tell it was him behind the mic.

@you.found.nemo on your second booking also! Woohoo! Already a pro, I’m excited to be part of the beginning of your VO journey. And also sending you and Britt all the love ❤️

@bukette_of_sand on your first booking, despite being one of the newest additions to my roster, booked in record time! It was a surprising one, but fingers crossed for more to come!

Last but not least my Mark! He booked 3 characters at once!!! Finally the world gets to see you for the talent I know you are! Only his second gig in 3 yrs, so don’t feel bad when you don’t book.

Been holding in this exciting news for 10 days now. Even though, I didn’t book myself, I am SO happy because this has been the fruit of A LOT of labor (from everyone), but it feels so worth it to share this joy with amazing humans who honestly deserve the world.

DNIC Virtual: Psychological Safety of PLAY
Host: @lilishen92
Guest Speakers: @lisapeers and @nativi_rad
Date: October 14th Wednesday
Time:
10am-11am (Vegas, SF, LA)
7pm-8pm (Amsterdam)

Play builds the foundation to physical, social, cognitive and emotional growth. It is how we learn soft skills like problem solving, creativity, empathy, confidence, and how to cope with stress when things get tough. Play is also essential in making social connections and building relationships, both as children, as well as adults. Psychological safety is particularly important when it comes to play because we have to feel safe enough to be ourselves. Play can be an incredibly vulnerable thing, especially as we get older. Listen to professionals talks about how PLAY is essential to their work and what can we learn about psychological safety in play that we can bring to the workplace?

Join Lisa Peers, CEO of @peersandplayers and Wendy Natividad, Co-organizer of @communityimprovla as they share personal stories and conversation about why psychological safety is important in their work.

Please RSVP through the link in bio & share with your friend who cares about safety! More on the speakers in the link too!

I am crying. 😭 It feels like one of those full circle moments. Living in Vegas, visiting San Diego, the city I studied Uni in, teaching musical puppet improv @improvcon, when I started improv in Shanghai 11-12 yrs ago now.

I feel incredibly grateful for my journey, despite the very many challenges and difficulties, they taught me that no matter what organization or industry, centering inclusion, diversity and accessibility will ALWAYS create safer spaces for communication, collaboration, connection and community. I was very fortunate for the opportunities to lead and create throughout my improv career and I’ve started more affinity improv troupes in Shanghai than I can count - but I’m sure there are things I could have done better.

As I stood in our workshop on Friday, surrounded by 20 adults with sock puppets playing and laughing in silly voices - I was tearing up. To quote a participant, a wall of joy hit me. Something inside me healed and this is why I do this. In dark times we search for the things and people that restore our faith in humanity - and the things that give us joy, and HOPE. I am so grateful for @improvcon, and especially our new puppet-loving friends and everyone we met committed to creating safer spaces in improv for play. I SEE YOU. Thank you to Jazz, to the organizers, volunteers, staff, and everyone who made it comfy and welcoming. This was pure improv magic. 🪄 I feel inspired and hopeful for humanity 😭

I love what we have built in Vegas with @furandthundur our team is so full of love and heart - using an art form focused on releasing our inner children to play, create and process. Our queer puppet family has been called a “MOB OF JOY” since 2024 and we are 100+ shows strong and counting.
