What an amazing day I had at the @mindfulfishing Bass Derby this weekend past seeing volunteer boaters and first responders learning, fishing, and having just the best time!

Congratulations to the three winners of Biggest Fish in each of the Kids, Boater, and First Responder categories!

These are just a few photos of many I have from the day, and you'll be able to see the rest of them in a blog post on the Limestone Lures website (as soon as I have time to write it!)

For now, I just want to say thank you to everyone from the community who participated and supported this amazing cause!

But the biggest thanks goes to Christine. She is the one who brings everyone together and created this wonderful community of people that come from all walks of life and experiences and smushes us all together in boats. The result is just the greatest group of people supporting each other and having a blast doing it. She does incredible things for our First Responders and without her, none of this would have likely ever became a reality.

Nothing like a little lawnchair bassin! Didn't expect this piggly wiggly to show up. After Durham anglers released a few fish here last weekend after their championship, it's nice to see catch & release working!!!
She whacked a @weaponsofbassdestructionlureco chatterbait with a @limestonelures Deputy trailer. Did a 8-10 foot tail walk across a glass calm bay😎😎😎😎🎣 My new favourite @streamside_official ELITE 7'1" felt awesome🎣 @streamside_official @limestonelures @weaponsofbassdestructionlureco #blessed #las #stayclassy #getbit #lawnchairbassin by @limestonelures

Snippets of what I've paid to ship real orders that my customers pay ! Flat rate of $10.00 for.

Yes, I realize this means I'm losing revenue on virtually every order. But I'm a consumer too, and I appreciate not having to guess how much shipping an order I want to place is going to cost. So I wanted to offer that same experience, as a token of appreciation, to the people that are helping to keep my little dream going.

It also serves a double function as a convenience factor for me. In the event that Canada Post decides to try and hold another holiday ransom, its easier for me to just use a different carrier for orders that have have already been placed, but not yet shipped.

The more you know!

All smiles at the Limestone Lures booth this weekend during the @cisa_fishing Kingston Open and @madeincanada_tackleshows expo!

Nearly 100 Random Acts of Kid-ness bags were made, which means I got to hear nearly 100 stories of kids being kind to others!

From helping siblings clean up toys, giving a friend a hug when they were sad, playing with someone new in class on the first day in a new school so they wouldn't be lonely, and everything in between!

So many people that had no idea what was going on stopped into the booth with their kids, many that had never been fishing before. It was always fun explaining the competition to them and their children, specially if they were around during the live weigh-ins!

The only thing better than watching these awesome kids faces light up as they try to think of their best kind act, was seeing kids who have never fished before run back to their parents begging to go fishing right away so they can use their new lures!

I'm so grateful to have this opportunity to share our passion and love of fishing with the next generation.

Who knows, one of those kids whose first experience with fishing started with a story of kindness, might someday be standing on that very stage, holding a trophy smallmouth bass.

😶‍🌫️🟣 Smokey Violet, with its translucent black body and small purple flake, is a seductive pattern that excels in clearer water, specially in a Bad Shad

My favorite way to present it is on a weightless Texas Rig. Find those shallow weeds and cast it right into the middle, then give it subtle jerks to make it saunter in between the blades of grass.

Born from passion, proven by performance.

🔥🚨 RANDOM ACTS OF KID-NESS IS BACK!! 🚨🔥

The only thing I love more than seeing kids enjoying fishing is hearing about kids being kind.

This was such a hit last year I couldn't wait to do it again!

Every kid who comes to the Limestone Lures booth at the Made in Canada Tackle Expo, running alongside the @cisa_fishing Kingston Open from tomorrow through Sunday, and tells me about something kind they've done for someone else gets to make their OWN bag of Limestone Lures from my Bin-O-Baits!

I look forward to hearing all the stories of kids being kind!

This was meant to be nothing more than a fun experiment. I dont know why I was so surprised that this 6" Upsized Road Toad worked so well. After all, it is identical to the original in every way aside from scale.

If anything, having a bigger version of it actually helps to better visualize the action of the smaller original. They behave exactly the same.

In case you were curious, thats a 12/0 @ownerhooks Beast hook its rigged on. Still looks a bit small 😄

@burnin_baitsguide_service up for a little product testing? 😎

Did you know❓️

Every single Yabbie is meticulously hand poured at the Limestone Lures baitshop right here in Kingston, Ontario.

It's not a perfect science, and sometimes overpouring happens, which means I have to clean up the flashing and overpour with scissors or a pair of nippers after. It takes extra time, but the effort is worth it for the end result.

I could turn it into an injection mold, and maybe someday I will. But for now, this is the way.

Just messing around with up-scaling the 4" Road Toad

I was intending to mix up a small batch of Green Pumpkin, but used the wrong green by mistake. So instead of just adding it to the Phoenix pile, I decided to play with a flake combo I've been thinking about and shoot it into an upsized Road Toad mold I made for the lolz.

Obviously it would be bigger, but until I had actually poured the first test run, I honestly didn't anticipate just how much more chunky it would be vs the original size!

Think this would work well for Musky topwater? Big Pike maybe? Or would you throw this fat frog for something else?
