A huge congratulations to Hazel, our 2026 Kingston Youth Fishing League Junior Division Champion!

Hazel has earned herself some awesome prizes:
$125 SAIL Gift Card
One-Year Subscription to Ontario OUT of DOORS Magazine!

Fishing isn’t always about how many fish you catch or how big they are. Sometimes the weather doesn’t cooperate, the fish aren’t biting, and patience gets put to the test!

But that’s one of the greatest lessons fishing can teach us — perseverance, patience, and learning to enjoy the outdoors no matter what the day brings!

A big thank you to Bryon Struch for leading our Kingston league and sharing his knowledge of ethical angling, conservation, and responsible fishing with the next generation of anglers. Your dedication helps create experiences these kids will carry with them for years to come!

We’d also like to thank the City of Kingston for hosting our Youth Fishing League and helping us provide more opportunities for local kids to connect with nature through fishing.

Congratulations again, Hazel! Keep casting, keep learning, and keep making memories!

Nothing like a little lawnchair bassin! Didn't expect this piggly wiggly to show up. After Durham anglers released a few fish here last weekend after their championship, it's nice to see catch & release working!!!
She whacked a @weaponsofbassdestructionlureco chatterbait with a @limestonelures Deputy trailer. Did a 8-10 foot tail walk across a glass calm bay😎😎😎😎🎣 My new favourite @streamside_official ELITE 7'1" felt awesome🎣 @streamside_official @limestonelures @weaponsofbassdestructionlureco #blessed #las #stayclassy #getbit #lawnchairbassin

Snippets of what I've paid to ship real orders that my customers pay ! Flat rate of $10.00 for.

Yes, I realize this means I'm losing revenue on virtually every order. But I'm a consumer too, and I appreciate not having to guess how much shipping an order I want to place is going to cost. So I wanted to offer that same experience, as a token of appreciation, to the people that are helping to keep my little dream going.

It also serves a double function as a convenience factor for me. In the event that Canada Post decides to try and hold another holiday ransom, its easier for me to just use a different carrier for orders that have have already been placed, but not yet shipped.

The more you know!

Had an awesome day at the second annual Kayak Bass Canada Big Bass Smack Down at Charleston Lake! This one uses a unique format where it takes your biggest bass from the morning and afternoon period to make up your 2-fish virtual stringer. There were also prizes for the biggest bass for each half of the day and overall biggest bass!

It definitely switches things up in how you have to strategize and plan your day, specially as conditions change and the fish mood with it. I had a plan with Rick and Alan to make a big run in the morning before the "Lines In" so we could be at a prime spot to start the day.

As in typical fashion for me, however, I got to the launch point later than I wanted to, arriving at about 6:40am, 20 minutes before official lines in at 7.

I suggested Rick and Alan to head on without me since they were already on the water and ready to go, but after I had dunked my Wilderness Systems Tactical Pro 128 in, I saw they were both still floating around. Turns out Alan was having issues with his new motor. We sent Rick out to carry on with the day while I stayed back to help troubleshoot.

By the time we got it fixed, it was about 9:15, leaving us with only 45 minutes to land and log the biggest fish we could before the 10am morning cutoff. Neither of us got anything worth submitting, effectively taking us out of the running for the podium for the rest of the day.

But that didn't really matter. What mattered is that Alan and I were able to get his new motor running so he could enjoy using it worry free for the first time.

There's two things I know for a fact:

1. I would not have been able to focus on fishing, knowing my friend was still back at the ramp, potentially struggling to figure out the problem and;

2. If the situation was reversed, I know Alan would do the same for me in a heartbeat.

My friends are far more important to me than any competition or prizes. And anyways, there was no prize pot more valuable than seeing my best bud as happy as he was to be in his new kayak with a working motor.

Friendship is the best ship.

Tough 2 days on the water but managed to find a few nice ones atleast. Tried the camera on the hat, nope, too big and heavy. Chest mount it is. Tight lines all.

Fishing the @limestonelures Road Toad on the St. Lawrence river in my @wildernesssystems Tactical Pro 128

It's been almost a year since I picked it up from my friends at @frontenac_outfitters and I haven't looked back once! There are days when I'll spend 8-12 hours on the water in it and nothing hurts when I'm done. The purpose designed capacity for bow and/or stern mounted Electric motor does more for me than just make fishing easier and more enjoyable, it makes it possible for me to be on the water for that long in the first place.

I didnt even realize it until this summer. Peddling my old kayak wasn't a problem, peddling it ALL DAY was, though. Not because my legs are weak, but because my feet are. I was diagnosed with bi-lateral plantar fasciitis last year after dealing with chronic pain for a number of years. Earlier this year I started receiving cortisone injections (very painful procedure) directly into the arch-side of each foot. The pain relief is immeasurable, but my feet fatigue quickly, specially following a treatment. So peddling would be an absolute no-go for me, and paddling, while mostly upper body, would still aggravate it due to having to brace against foot pegs. Both would be a nightmare in any kind of wind and waves.

But now, I can sit all day in my TP128, stand to fish as tolerated, and still leave the water not feeling absolutely drained at the end of the day. Sure, it takes some of the exercise out of fishing, but when I'm kayak fishing, I was never there for exercise in the first place. I'm there to fish.

And this kayak makes that so much better for me.

Kids, cops and fishing!

Fun morning with Ty and his fellow officers from the @brockvillepolice department.

Community involvement is a large part of our local police department and I am very proud to support Tyler and his fellow officers.

Special thanks to Jeff and @limestonelures for the soft plastics. This is why we are proud to be pro-staff with Limestone. Your support for the first responders means the world to us.

Special thanks to Wes At @wambaits_canada for his donations of soft plastics. Dang .....those Wamsolos went fast for the fishing dad's who saw them and recognized them!

If you are buying soft plastics you need to buy from a small, local to you, bait maker. These guys put their heart and soul into every piece in a bag and it really shows.
