I feel like I’ve been procrastinating making this post but in reality there are so many layers of grief that I’ve been feeling from her passing that it’s been hard to put into words. In 2023 I was contacted by @rebeccaann.seaver to do makeup on Dolly Parton for the Rockstar album. At the time we were mostly acquaintances, but she knew I had been a makeup artist for about 15 years and we had worked together on a show not long before this. I had no idea that working on that shoot with her amazing creative team would be so life changing for me as I continued to work with her for the past 3 years whenever she needed me. But the most special part was being able to witness the love she had for her niece Rebecca and her entire family. Coming from an abusive household with no immediate family other than my older brother, witnessing familial love like that was something I had never seen before and probably never will again. I will forever cherish the closeness and conversations I had with Dolly and the people that working with her has continued to bring into my life. And I am so incredibly lucky that most of the memories I have with her are also with my now very best friend Rebecca. The grief comes in waves and it feels like a piece of my heart was ripped out, but I am so proud of her and the work she continues to do to honor her aunt and for her family. If you read this far drop your favorite Dolly Parton memory. I would love to hear it. Collective grief is strong, but so is collective joy. 💞🦋 #DollyParton #Dolly #Makeupartist #nashville by @lintuvon

How many makeup artists can say they did makeup for a true icon let alone say that their makeup is forever preserved on a doll of said icon? Surreal honestly. And she’s even more beautiful in person just like the queen herself. I was honored to do makeup for Dolly Parton for the @acmawards in 2023 after doing makeup for Rockstar. We created different makeup looks for every outfit she wore that night and changed in between commercial breaks. (My favorite kind of chaos!) I had no idea til after that this performance would also be turned into a music video as well. Out of all the work I’ve done in my nearly 20 years of makeup artistry, I will always be the most proud of the work I did with Dolly. Thank you @integrity_toys for making her so perfect and @rebeccaann.seaver for heading a project so meaningful to many. I just want to remind everyone that even if you’ve lived a life with trauma or abuse that it does not have to shape your future. You can live a wonderful life with beautiful memories despite the harm others have caused you. Speaking from experience. Ok love ya. 💞 #dollyparton #makeupartist #nashville by @lintuvon
