From masterclasses on governance, public leadership, diplomacy, climate policy, and legislative excellence…
To community service, parliamentary simulations, institutional visits, and MentX sessions with some of the nation’s finest minds…
…the Fellows-in-Training were stretched, challenged, inspired, and equipped.

They learned the discipline behind public leadership.
They saw the inner workings of institutions that uphold our democracy.
They engaged with experts shaping Nigeria’s future across governance, environment, diplomacy, innovation, and development.
They served communities, listened deeply, and confronted the realities of leadership beyond theory.

It was intense.
It was reflective.
It was transformative.

Empowering Africa’s Next Generation of Digital Leaders and Innovators

On Thursday, 8 October 2026, the Deputy Chief of Staff of CoSPAL, Ms Solape Sonuga represented the Secretary-General, Amb. ’Dapo Oyewole, at the second edition of the Vision 2035 AI-athon Project: Digital Leadership Workshop and Speech Contest (DILS), held at the National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies (NILDS), Abuja.

Organised by the Young Communicators Initiative (TYCI), the forum brought together emerging leaders to explore the responsible use of artificial intelligence, technology and public communication in advancing governance and development across Africa.

As technology continues to reshape societies and institutions, equipping young people with the knowledge and skills to engage responsibly with these tools is essential to building a more innovative, inclusive and digitally empowered Africa.

Investing in young people’s digital capacity today is an investment in Africa’s democratic and developmental future. by @lmi_official

There is something special about seeing leadership come alive beyond the classroom.

For Cohort 3, Community Service became an opportunity to connect with people, share in their experiences and give their time in service.

The smiles, the laughter, the conversations and the moments of genuine connection became part of the LMI experience, reminding Fellows that leadership begins with people and finds meaning in service to others.

A day of giving, learning and creating moments worth remembering.

This, too, is the LMI experience. by @lmi_official
