POSTS STORIES REELS

In honor of yesterday, October 10th, being World Mental Health Day I wanted to share the impact one person can have and the ripple effect it causes.

My story almost had a very early and abrupt ending, and I’m grateful every single day that @justcallmekaytee reached me when she did.

But I’m not alone in that experience. Every day, all over the world, people face moments of shattering crisis—people of every race, nationality, age, religion, political view, gender identity, and background. Countless souls reach that quiet edge where they believe their story is over… where they can’t see a way forward.

And yet, every single one of those moments holds the potential for hope… because of us.

When we choose to see past what makes us different, and see someone as another human being simply deserving of love, safety, and the right to exist, we become the light someone else might need to survive.

So don’t underestimate the impact you can have. A conversation. A message. A pause to truly see someone.

You might not change the entire world, but you can change someone’s world entirely.

Be kind.

October 16th, 2017 was almost my last night on this earth. But that night I was given a second chance to truly live and love my life.

So this year, as an anniversary gift to myself, I finally got two tattoos I’ve wanted for a long time. Both were intentionally chosen and carry deep meaning meant to honor where I’ve been, the people who helped me get here, and the beautiful life I have ahead of me.

I couldn’t love them more and the life I’m still here to live.
