Hello everyone! The September Somatic Group for Jews is happening on Sunday, September 19 @ 4 pm PT—the 3rd Sunday as promised! We will be in the new year, a year of slowing down and tending to what’s important and nourishing. The 7th year of the Shmita—rest for Mother Earth. I am so grateful for @goldherring for their wisdom in their Jewish Planner. It’s woken me up to the grief of what I lost, growing up with a delusional parent, and also hope and gratitude for what we are as a community, ethnicity, people. I, myself, am relearning how to be the Jewess I want to be, what is important to me and deeply ingrained in my DNA without the dogma and delusion. While I come from a line of rabbis on one side and teachers and engineers and mercantile folk on the other, mental illness shadowed much of my childhood. I lived in a perpetual state of survival. My mother followed the Hebrew calendar, told me I wasn’t Jewish if I put my right shoe on first, shit talked other Jews, and rarely went to temple or held Shabbat or Havdalah, resented synagogues, never celebrated Sukkot. Her madness was beyond beyond. If it weren’t for my beloved rebbe Zeide or my neshama Safti (her spelling), I would have been lost in the wind. It was with my Safti that I learned to honor the light on Shabbos, to set the table, to cook the meal. It was my Zeide who taught me there was no wrong way to be a Jew. May their memories forever be a blessing. I am tending to and healing my own roots from the bottom up, meeting my ancestors and holding them with gentle compassion, honoring the fear and need to survive, which I feel deeply. There is simply no wrong way to be a Jew. Period. All are welcome in this group. There’s no DNA check, or dogmatic rule book I follow. Come! You, yeah YOU, are welcome. This group is by donation : $5-18 Venmo: @saritzrogers PayPal: saritrogersyoga@gmail.com May you be at ease, may your heart be light and undefended, may you feel Mother Earth rising up to hold and support you, may you feel your ancestors behind you and your brothers, sisters, and allies in front of you. This is a sickening example of power, privilege, a lack of empathy, invalidation, greed. VOTE HIM OUT. I truly don’t think we can survive another 4 years of this hell. I echo what @rmstahl1 says below: #repost @rmstahl1 ・・・ There are no words to describe what I feel about this Tweet. The floor keeps falling into a deeper abyss of Hell. The 208,000 people who have died? The countless who have potentially lifelong repercussions from this awful disease? Their families? Their friends? They don't matter at all to Donald. I'm never scared of disease. I'm the one who never cared about germs at all. Covid scares me. Covid is about the worst thing because for some it's terrible but also sometimes not bad at all. That makes it MORE dangerous, not less. Because it's just "ok" enough that people can believe it's safe. This Tweet encourages that belief. His callousness has no bounds. I have worked with people who have experienced inexplicable trauma. I have never, and I mean never, seen someone with absolutely no empathy until seeing Donald Trump. He has drained me of all my energy. I feel like my humanity is being sucked dry by his lack of regard for others. And maybe that's the point. The cruelty has always been the point. I'm genuinely terrified he wins in a month. I hope my predictions are wrong. I will never be happier than to be wrong about that. I'm not sure the world could survive another four years of Donald Trump as president. by @lovemoremovement
#repost @somaticwellnessyoga ・・・ Grief isn’t linear; it’s not something we “get over,” especially if we don’t tend to it, all of it: the messiness, the pain, the rage, the denial, the what ifs. When we attempt to override it with spiritual bypassing or magical thinking or compartmentalizing, or ignoring, we deny ourselves the gift of process and of healing. Grief when left untended becomes complex and it comes out sideways. We are in a state of collective grief: An unbelievable amount of lives lost, A virus that is profoundly mismanaged by a government that is also...profoundly mismanaged. There are so many racial attacks on BLACK bodies, it’s rendering us bereft and enraged and grieving: ALL THE TIME (rightfully so). Anti-Semitic attacks are at an all time high, leaving us afraid, silenced and grieving. We never grieved 911. We fought as a nation. Chasing a concept. Love is indeed the salve. When I started the @lovemoremovement with @revjosephrogers, the intent was to celebrate love, soft love and fierce love. It was also formed to honor our grief. My LOVE MORE tattoo on my hands is a call to action: to love ourselves (oxygen mask, folx!!) so we can more fully love others. This is work: it’s messy. Muddy. Tear filled, sometimes with laughter seasoned in the soup. We can lean on each other. We must grieve. We must. So we can love hard. Pass it on. #Somaticwellnessyoga #healingcentered #yogawithsarit #traumainformed #somaticexperiencing #somatics #healing #blacklivesmatter #jewsforblacklives #grief #love by @lovemoremovement
I am mortified by the level of hate and sickness that is in this google image search. If you google search “Jewish stroller” you get images of ovens and bbqs. How exactly is this allowed? How is it ok? @google responded with a pat answer and blames the public not their algorithm. If you see it, say something. #antisemitism #bigotry #lovemoremovement #lovemore #compassionrevolution #compassion #lovewithintent #makechange by @lovemoremovement
I would say this is unbelievable but that would be a lie. A vile, despicable lie. No Justice, No Peace. #breonnataylor #sayhername #herlifewaspriceless #repost @rachel.cargle ・・・ No Justice. No Peace. • Tweet from @j.oslina by @lovemoremovement

#repost @mercurial_era ・・・ #Repost @mandanadayani ・・・ The rise of antisemitism in America is alarming. ⁣⁣ It is pervasive and it needs to be addressed. ⁣⁣ This video shows two shoppers wearing masks with Nazi swastikas at a Walmart in Marshall, Minnesota.⁣⁣ There are similar incidents everywhere. ⁣⁣ Hatred on the internet is rampant, unchecked, and used for profit. There are highly dangerous and toxic tropes being shared by people all over the internet, including very high profile celebrities Such as Ice Cube, DeSean Jackson, and Stephen Jackson who recently shared anti-semitic, dehumanizing messages. Messages about the Jews owning all the banks and showing support for Louis Farrakhan who is notoriously homophobic and antisemitic. The same dehumanizing rhetoric used by Nazis to justify the slaughter of SIX MILLION jews.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ A study conducted by the Conference on Jewish Material Claims Against Germany reported that 66% of millennials say they don't know about the Auschwitz death camp where more than a million Jews and others, including Poles, Roma people and LGBTQ were executed. It is our collective responsibility to share these stories and to stop the repetition of highly dangerous actions.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ According to the Anti-Defamation League, a record number of anti-Semitic incidents were reported in the United States last year, more than in any year since the Anti-Defamation League began tracking them four decades ago.  ⁣⁣ If you haven't read the op-ed by Kareem Abdul Jabbar in The Hollywood Reporter entitled "Where Is the Outrage Over Anti-Semitism in Sports and Hollywood?" I highly recommend it. He says: "While it’s possible the words were wrong, celebrities have a responsibility to get the words right. It’s not enough to have good intentions, because it’s the actual deeds — and words — which have the real impact. In this case destructive impact."⁣⁣ On this video above, Benjamin Ruesch, 29 is heard saying: "You're sick. You have an illness. You can't be American and wear that mask. You cannot.
