6 YEARS LATER!! 🥹😭🙌🏻 It’s been a wild ride these last few years filled with so many lows and setbacks! 5 surgeries on my knee and ankle and too many lonely rehab sessions to count and I finally got to put on a leotard again and do what I love, which I had accepted would never happen again for me! In 2020 my ankle doctor told me there was nothing more he could do for me medically which then led to me being removed from national squad funding! Throughout 2020 I battled with my mental health and suicidal thoughts, feeling so ashamed and embarrassed about my gymnastic career and not making it to the Tokyo games! In the end I had to prioritise my mental health and walk away from the sport! But thankfully @jayscoo stood by my side through the devastating lows and picked up the pieces and supported me in every way to become a healthier and happier person! Thank you so much to @liverpooltga for supporting me medically, allowing me to have numerous scans and operations with great surgeons to be able to have the opportunity to train again! There have been too many people involved in this journey to even thank but @zoebrookes4 @jayscoo @danmccaffrey97 and Dan Greaves for the coaching and programmes these last few months and for believing in me and this journey, even on the days when I don’t believe in myself ❤️ Family, friends and teammates ❤️ @kez2611 top dog Auntie! Lastly a huge thank you to @stevenwilliams.et for getting this old body strong again (kind of) Grateful to Matt at @r4p_uk for helping put me back together these last few years! 🙌🏻 I may never be the athlete I was but I’m so proud of the person I am now and everything I’ve been through to get to this point! Onwards and upwards 🤞🏼 taken in Telford International Centre by @luke_strong2

For a long time, it looked highly unlikely that Luke Strong would achieve his childhood ambition of becoming the trampoline gymnast with the most British men’s titles. However, not only has he now secured that goal with a sixth victory at nationals at the age of 32, but he’s also been selected to represent his country at next month’s World Championships. It’s no exaggeration to say that @luke_strong2 has been through injury hell during his career, so he’s as astounded as anyone by his return to international competition after a seven-year absence. “To make the team feels like a huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders,” Strong tells Outsports. ”But at the same time, it’s also come as a huge shock.” Follow the link in bio to read more. by @luke_strong2

你好 Nǐ hǎo 🇨🇳 He’s back! So happy to be able to announce that I have been selected for my 7th World Championships next month in Nanjing, China! It’s been a long 7 years since I competed at my last major championships for Great Britain, but this one feels so special because of the insane journey back from injury I’ve had since 2019! Broken ankle, torn meniscus, stress fractures, arthritis… it’s been a rollercoaster! I’ve had many moments of doubt and fear during this comeback, most of the time feeling like I was making a mistake and embarrassing myself, and waiting for everything to fail again! The fear of failing again was so intense leading up to the British I almost quit 🤢 This journey would not of been possible without the team of people around me, who have facilitated and supported this comeback and the many ups and downs the sport brings (sorry) Thank you to @jayscoo who has never stopped believing in me, even on the days I try my best to make him a non believer 😂 My once teammate & friend now coach @zoebrookes4, because everyone needs a fizz who takes no💩 @rejuven8physio has given me the programmes and tools to become the strongest athlete I can be! It’s taken me a long time to trust medical advice again, but Lou goes above and beyond and has helped me believe in myself body again! Thanks to @kez2611 @bethanykbrood @clairewood2014 who have to listen to me moan and cry on bad days, and also double-up and dog sitters when I need a holiday ✈️ There are honestly too many people to thank and I’m sorry to not give a special mention to everyone but know I appreciate and love you all! Lastly shout out to @liverpooltga and @altiusgymnastics_ the best ❤️ Congrats to all my teams mates and let’s smash it in China ❤️ 🇬🇧 Photo credit- @britishgymnasticsofficial Gymnastics 💅 #worldchampionships #china #trampoline #gymnastics #comeback taken in Nanjing, China by @luke_strong2

This weekend finally felt like vindication. I have shouldered the burden of others opinions of me for years! I believed I was weak, old, too injured and a failure! And because of this I walked away from a sport I once loved! It took many years, 6 surgeries and more rehab days than I can count! Never let others doubts and negative opinions of you determine what you’re capable of! BRITISH CHAMPS 26 I’m baaaackkkkk 👀🤩 After experiencing one of the best summers of my life on the @takethat circus tour, I returned to the competition floor this weekend. The tour reminded me of how much I love my sport and how much throwing in the towel wasn’t an option. There was a lot of pressure surrounding this competition & a lot at stake and I’d like to think I did little me very proud no matter what happens🫂 a lot of battles were fought inside and outside the sport but I’m grateful for every single one. Thank you to all my @liverpooltga family & thank you to all my soulmates in this post love you for life. The journey isn’t over yet baby. Roll on germany in a couple of weeks x by @luke_strong2

BRITISH CHAMPIONSHIPS 2026 A bit of a bitter sweet time at the British this year💫 On day one of the competition I placed second in the senior men’s category. I am fairly happy with my score and the development I’ve shown since the start of this season. As this is my first year back to competition, I’m really proud of the progress I’ve made so far and I’m excited for how far I can push myself and chase my pre injury standards. I was also awarded the Paul Luxon award for the highest execution score in the senior groups which definitely gave me a boost knowing I’ve still got it all in there somewhere🤣 Day two of the competition didn’t go as well where I didn’t complete my routine and didn’t qualify for the finals later on. Although this hurts, I am still trying to focus on all of the positive steps forwards I have made this year and the psychological shift I’ve had in my mindset! 2027 let’s go … by @luke_strong2

6x Senior British Champion! (Record for British men) 🏆 2026, 2019, 2018, 2017, 2015, 2011 🏆 It’s been one crazy ride and apparently it’s still going! 🥴 Would not be back doing this sport if it weren’t for the incredible community of people I have around me! I’ve been overwhelmed by the love and support from people around me! Believing in me even when I don’t believe in myself! There are honestly too many people to even begin to tag everyone! (Also putting up with my mood swings and my 18 withdrawals this week 😂) Big shout out to @jayscoo @zoebrookes4 @rejuven8physio and @liverpooltga @altiusgymnastics_ for helping put this old body back together ❤️ #britishchampion #gymnastics #record #comeback taken in Telford International Arena by @luke_strong2
