Editorial video portraits produced by @risewellprodco

Had so much fun making some mid-day magic with Mother Earth, who provided an incredible back drop! Thanks to the small but strong team that came together to capture this. We’d love to explore more video portraiture in 2026 👀

Pedazo De Mi Corazón - An aesthetic film

Hi friends, I’m happy to finally share something I’ve held close to the chest for many months. This short aesthetic film includes a combination of images taken over multiple trips to PR from 2021-2024.

I hope you enjoy and I’ll tell Abuela you said hi. 🫶🏼 taken in Puerto Rico by @m.lamourt

Making pretty pictures and having fun. 🙌🏼
We couldn’t have made this first year of Risewell possible without the amazing folks on our productions teams and the creators who allow us to bring their stories to life.
Here to many more years 🥂 by @m.lamourt

Photography is central to our work at @bigmouthcreative. It catches the eye, tells a story and creates belonging.

This #WorldPhotographyWeek — a global celebration of imagery — we’re focusing on a Bigmouth partner behind the camera.

@m.lamourt (they/them) proves photography isn’t just one thing. Their work ranges from portraits to conceptual photos to big-name studio productions and, yes, campaign work.

M’s work on @chipublichealth’s Illinois Safe Sleep campaign captures her subjects’ natural humanity, from cozy newborns to doting parents.

“Basic human needs are a point of connection,” they said. “That tends to be the throughline in my work.”

Follow M for a behind-the-scenes look at their vibrant, joyful process!

What a joy and honor to capture the visceral and spiritually moving story that is Abuela’s Follies.

This is the final weekend to catch the musically moving bilingual production that tells the story of Abuela’s journey through purgatory. This interactive experience lets the audience dive into her life story, en las buenas y en las malas, and decide where she’ll end up in the afterlife.

Catch it until Aug 23 at A Red Orchid Theater. by @m.lamourt

Moving forward. Dancing with a camera. Resting with my son. Playing with my sister. Play as work. Seeing my work colored on a t-shirt. Coloring in the park. Learning how to make stingers. Supporting the homies. Biking again after my accident. Casting money spells. Thanking god for the color purple and sending love to u. 💘 taken in Chicago, Illinois by @m.lamourt

This one goes out to all the BTS baddies. These folks usually aren’t meant to be seen, but at Risewell we want to spotlight the folks behind the camera quietly working to tell stories through the lens, with a mic, with a prop, with a costume, brush stroke, or marked check box.

There is no way we could’ve completed the labor of love that is “You Smoke?” without these incredibly hardworking and talented filmmakers. I felt overwhelmingly grateful to look across set during our overnight shoot to see the community connections we’ve built over the years that are helping us to tell stories by us and for us.

Since filming in April, we’re excited to share that we’ve got a picture lock cut and have submitted this film to Black Harvest and Black Alphabet! If you know of other aligned festivals and screenings please DM us!

We’re so excited to share this queer club film with the world. But our first order of business once it’s ready? A cast and crew screening, of course.

With love,
M

It's a special feeling to be supported & seen for work that is inextricably tied to your inner world. Incredibly humbled & honored to be joining the Chicago performance landscape for the first time as a solo artist! Please come see a WIP showing of my new project 'trace' this Saturday.
