✨What if you could collect a feeling? 🌅
That’s what I’m trying to capture in my Sunset Dream series— the memory, emotion and sense of being somewhere else that lingers after the light is gone.

Sunset Dream 20 is a new 40” × 30” painting with dreamlike layers of luminous acrylic pinks on a silver metallic spray painted background that shifts with light.
I created this series for collectors and design-led spaces that want art to create atmosphere, emotion and a story we can escape to and start a conversation.

✨ What draws you in first: the light, the colour, or the feeling?

Sunset Dream 20 is available at Art Interiors, 446 Spadina Road, Toronto. Comment or DM me “SUNSET” for current available artwork and for collector inquiries.

❤️‍🔥 @chiharushiota @mbamtl

Unforgettable immersive experience by the Japanese installation and performance artist, Chiharu Shiota. She’s known for her intuitive webbed thread installations expressing themes of connection, identity, belonging, life, death, body, memory, absence, space,.. Most importantly, I completely felt the depth of her artwork 🖤

✨There’s something deeply personal about creating this Sunset Dream series. I’m trying to capture the fleeting beauty of a sunset and the emotions and memories it awakens—preserving a feeling that would otherwise simply pass with light. 🌅

Sunset Dream 19. Acrylic on canvas. 40”x30”. Available at Art Interiors gallery. View link in bio for their online gallery: https://artinteriors.ca/artists/marianne-sung or in-person at 446 Spadina Road, Toronto.

My Sunset Dream series is spray painted in silver metallic, creating a luminous and ethereal atmosphere. Layered with dreamlike pinks, these paintings express warmth, nostalgia and the emotional memory of fleeting moments in time and place… moments you can return to through art, bringing calm and energy into your space.

I believe art can be more than something beautiful on a wall. The right piece can evoke a feeling, hold a memory and become part of the story of a home or collection.

For art collectors, art advisors, interior designers, curators and galleries looking for distinctive contemporary Canadian art, DM me for my current available artwork and inquiries.

👇If this piece aligns with your soul drop a comment below and note which part of the painting is the most magnetic✨

✨Recently visited the gallery to film these last six original acrylic landscape and floral paintings, now available at Art Interiors in Forest Hill, Toronto.

I’m drawn to nature that feels less like a specific place and more like a feeling — experiencing warm light, distant horizons, quiet moments and memories.

I’d love to know: what do you love most about nature — the light, the space, the colours, or the feeling of escape? 🩷

For my followers, collectors, art advisors, gallery curators, interior designers and anyone looking for an original painting to live with, comment/DM me for details or visit the link in my bio.

✨Desert Dream. Acrylic on canvas board. 20”x16” (framed). Now available at Art Interiors gallery : artinteriors.ca/artists/marianne-sung (DM or comment below for link or see in bio). In-person viewing: 446 Spadina Rd, Toronto (Forest Hill), Canada.

Radiating warmth and light, my paintings explore atmosphere, memory, and the emotional experience of landscapes. Drawing inspiration from Canadian, world and imagined environments, I build luminous surfaces through thin layers of acrylic paint, creating dreamlike spaces where colour becomes a carrier of feeling and recollection.
I am especially drawn to transitional moments in nature, including shifting light, distant horizons, and subtle tonal fields, where landscapes become less about place and more about perception. My use of pinks and atmospheric washes reflects this interest in memory as something fluid and emotionally constructed rather than fixed. Through my artwork, I explores how we experience identity, belonging and interconnectedness through nature, as well as how environments and community shape emotional and psychological states.

We are pleased that Marianne Sung has joined us this year for Art Gems 2026! 👏

Marianne Sung
Glowing 11
9"x12"
Acrylic on paper
2025

Marianne Sung is a contemporary Korean-Canadian artist known for her warm and light-hearted art that evokes a sense of magic and nostalgia. Her work is characterized by thin and transparent layers of acrylics and mixed media, reflecting her deep connections to Ontario, Québec, and her travels worldwide. Marianne's art often explores themes of identity, interconnectedness, and community, emphasizing the symbiotic relationship between humans and the environment. Her recent work, selected for the Art with Heart charity auction in 2025, showcases her commitment to ecological preservation and sustainability. Originally from Montréal, Marianne graduated McGill University with a Bachelor of Commerce and has since pursued her passion for art, living and staying creative in Toronto.

About this piece:
Radiating warmth and light, Glowing 11 is intended to spark feelings of magic while inspiring nostalgia. The varied colours, shades, and marks emerge by applying thin and transparent layers of acrylics. This painting is influenced by Marianne’s imagination and deep connections to the places and things in her current home of Ontario, her upbringing in Québec and world travels. Glowing 11 expresses themes of identity, belonging, interconnectedness and our need for community as a means for sustainability. Just as trees and flora thrive through mutual support and communication, this work underscores the symbiotic relationship between humans and the environment.
