C O M E V I S I T @thelobbybyheapsestrin this long weekend to see our group show ~ so much beauty.

When the Light Returns brings together four artists whose work explores light as atmosphere, memory, and transformation.
Featuring Johanna Reynolds, Kara McIntosh, Joyce Yiu, and Marianne Sung, the show moves between landscape and abstraction, balancing restraint with gesture, softness with intensity.
Through luminous acrylic landscapes, richly layered oil paintings, expressive abstraction, and tactile fibre-based works, the exhibition reflects on our relationship to the natural world and the subtle shift of seasons.

Marianne Sung’s landscapes feel like places you’ve been before, or maybe just dreamed of... Washed in pale, gentle hues, her work radiates warmth, stillness, and a quiet joy. ✨

Marianne is the recipient of the Gladstone House Award 🏆 Her paintings will be on view for a full year at the Gladstone House and lucky hotel guests will get to enjoy her dreamlike work during their stay. 🌿

The feeling you’ve reached the top…from the comfort of your own space.
✨ Before I move into new work. This was the very first landscape painting I created for @artistprojectto last year, and it still feels like an important starting point for me.
Nostalgia and the series is inspired by hills, rocks, and trees—but really, it’s about feeling emotions, memory, home, and the quiet places we carry inside us.

As I get ready to share new work for this year’s fair (process, sneak peaks of details), it felt right to acknowledge where it all started.

What place feels most like home to you?🖤
