From barely making it up a hill to falling completely in love with the sport. 🥹❤️

Thanks to @gatesoffury for introducing me to road biking, buying my first bike 😝, pushing me up the hills, and being patient with me through all my dramatic moments. 😂🫣

There were tears, two falls, and a lot of “I can’t do this” moments… and somehow, seven months later, my first Ironman 70.3.

Now it’s one of our favorite things to do together. And yes… it officially became my #1 sport. Sorry snowboarding, you got bumped… until winter anyway.😉☺️

Ironman Oregon 70.3… what an experience. ❤️

This race was always in the back of my mind, then one day I did what I usually do… signed up first and figured out the training after. 😂 Typical Macy.

Started training in March, and the next few months were filled with doubts, learning, and a lot of “what did I get myself into?” moments.

@restless_bull_performance_lab , I still remember commenting on your Ironman Cebu post, then you messaged me about training me for this. I had so many doubts, but you believed in me. Thank you for pushing me and introducing me to Navin.

@navin.triathlon , thank you for being so patient with me during my first swim sessions. 😅Thank you for being so kind, approachable, and genuinely one of the best humans I’ve met!

@gatesoffury , thank you for not just supporting me but doing this race with me. 🥹❤️ You even planned a road trip before the race to help ease my anxiety and always find ways to take me to beautiful places. I truly couldn’t have done this without you. Ilysm❤️

@3ptriteam , thank you for adopting us! You made this whole experience even better. Getting to train, race, and share this journey with such a fun and inspiring group of men and women was something I’ll always be grateful for.🔥

To my friends who joined me for workouts and runs just so we could hang out while I trained, thank you. Training took a lot of my time, and I’m so grateful you still found ways to be part of the journey.

This race gave me so much more than a medal. Forever grateful for this experience. 🫶
