to my husband, my best friend, and jio’s daddy:

i always knew God put us together for a reason, but walking through postpartum and having our first baby together has made that even more clear. i truly believe the Lord knew exactly what He was doing when He gave me you. 🤍

i will NEVER forget you praying over me when i thought i was going to die in the hospital, taking over with Jio when i was too exhausted to function, helping me when i couldn’t care for myself, and every sacrifice you made to make sure i was okay. you saw me at my absolute weakest, and you never once made me feel like a burden.

this has been the HARDEST season of my life, battling the darkest postpartum depression and anxiety. i became someone neither of us recognized, yet you never left my side. you advocated for me to get help, supported me every step of the way, and loved me through moments when i struggled to love myself. i thank the Lord for you every single day. you couldn’t take away my pain, but you made sure i never had to carry it alone.

i didn’t just choose you for me, i chose you for Jio too. he is going to have the most Godly, loving, emotionally intelligent, active, and present daddy ever. i pray he grows up watching you love your family, lead with kindness, and show him what a Godly man looks like.

thank you for loving me through the hardest season of my life. i would choose you through every hard season, and in every version of myself. i will never stop thanking God that i get to do this life with you. 🤍

I’m still walking through postpartum depression, but I’m not walking through it alone. 🤍

There have been days I’ve questioned myself, felt like I wasn’t enough, and wondered when I would feel like me again. But God has met me in every one of those moments, reminding me that my struggle does not make me a bad mother—and my weakness does not make me a woman of little faith.

I’m learning to surrender the days I can’t carry, trust Him with the healing I’m still waiting for, and give myself the same grace He gives me.

I’m not healed yet. But I’m still here. Still loving. Still praying. Still choosing to keep going. And by God’s grace, that is enough for today. 🤍

If you also struggle with postpartum depression, I see you and I hear you. Jesus heals, and He sees you too. 🙏🏼

my first mother’s day. 🤍

before becoming your mom, i prayed for you, dreamed about you, and wondered what it would feel like to hold a piece of my heart outside of my body. now here you are, and somehow God made reality even more beautiful than anything i imagined.

motherhood has humbled me in every way. the sleepless nights, the fear, the sacrifice, the constant worrying — but also a love so deep it brings me to tears when i look at you. every hard moment is overshadowed by the gift of being your mama.

God used you to change me completely.
to soften me. strengthen me. teach me patience, selflessness, and unconditional love in a way i never understood before.

there are moments i look at you and immediately thank God for trusting me with someone so precious. even on the hardest days, i know this role is the greatest blessing i’ve ever received.

today my heart is overflowing with gratitude.
for you, for this love, and for the privilege of being called “mom.” 🩵🙏🏼✝️ by @mad.devoted_12

the reality of a freshly postpartum body 🤍

this body is softer. slower. unfamiliar some days.
and yeah… I still struggle with comparison and body image.

BUT I’m reminding myself of truth instead of feelings.

I just had a baby. my body carried life.
it deserves grace, not criticism.

when my mind starts spiraling, I come back to this:

“i praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made.” — Psalm 139:14

and

“the Lord does not look at the things people look at… the Lord looks at the heart.” — 1 Samuel 16:7

so no… I’m not going to rush to “bounce back.”
I’m going to heal. I’m going to give myself time.
I’m going to choose grace.

if you’re in this season too—be gentle with yourself 🤍
you’re not behind. you’re becoming the mom that the Lord called you to be. 🙏🏼
