💫 New Episode 💫

🚜 This is the Land: Remagination Farm 👩🏽‍🌾

In this episode of Rising For Our Motherlands, we traveled to Remagination Farm on Eastern Pomo and Lake Miwok land to sit with the incredible Dr. Robyn Magalit Rodriguez.

Robyn made a life-altering decision so many of us in homeland struggles dream of—returning to the land and reshaping her entire life around ancestral callings, liberation, and love. After the loss of her son, Amado Khaya, she stepped away from a decades-long career as a UC Davis professor to build a life rooted in purpose: regenerative farming, ritual, spirituality, and ethical relationship to land and community.

At Remagination Farm and through Remagination Lab, Robyn is manifesting what freedom can look like. Her work through the School for Liberating Education and the Amado Khaya Initiative continues the legacy of the movements, teachings, and communities that shaped her and her family.

This conversation is a testament to grief, devotion, and transformation—and to the power of returning to the earth.

🎧 Tune in, listen with your heart, and rise with us. 🌋 Rising For Our Motherlands is on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, iHeartRadio & Spreaker ~ click the 🔗 in our bio.

📣 CALL FOR SUPPORT

We had the profound honor of sitting with Dr. Robyn Magalit Rodriguez @MadProfessora for Rising for Our Motherlands episode 3, whose life and work reflect a deeply powerful and life-altering return to the land. 🌱

In June and then July, Robyn’s farm — @ReimaginationFarm, dedicated to nourishing family and community — was devastated by two wildfires.

The family has been working tirelessly to recover, facing not only the overwhelming challenges of navigating legal issues and insurance claims, but the emotional and physical toll of such a traumatic event.

We are inviting our community to donate to their GoFundme. ❤️‍🩹 Your support will help Robyn, Josh, Zee, and their extended farm family meet their immediate needs during this emergency and ensure they can continue their vital work with the community. Any contribution, no matter the size, will make a meaningful difference in their recovery and help them rebuild spaces that nurture and heal so many. Your kindness and generosity are deeply appreciated.

We @joshuaxiongvang and I ❤️ this work.

Over the last 4 years, we’ve developed a land-based curriculum that brings together ethnic studies, environmental justice frameworks, ancestral healing and wellness practices, art, and food. It is as impactful for students as it is for us as learning facilitators.

At the end of every course we teach here, tears are shed. Happy tears. Tears that come from the joy of being in a better relationship with the land and with the community. Tears that come from the healing of intergenerational trauma and a new connection to the ancestors. Tears of disappointment too, mainly because no one wants to leave.

That was certainly true with @crc.apida.hawks.center and the other groups we’ve hosted this year. Nearly all of the students who came out in April from @crc.apida.hawks.center decided to come back to the farm on their own in early June.

I, @madprofessora have taught at the university-level for many years, and truly, I’ve had more impact in one weekend at the farm than my 10-15 week college courses.

The fire will have to put a pause on this work. For now.

Please consider contributing to our GoFundMe (link in bio) so we can start our work up again soon. by @madprofessora

The beloved @remaginationfarm and @amadokhayahh have been damaged in two separate fires recently 💔 Thankfully, Dr Robyn Rodriguez @madprofessora and her family are ok, but the recovery will be long and challenging for them. Please give what you can and if you have any resources to share to support them, the animals, and land, please reach out!

I miss you so much that I’ve tried to find you in others.
I’m drawn to those who share your likeness in some way.
Facial features.
Mannerisms.
Sometimes it’s enough that they share your hobbies and interests.
But I am always disapppinted. Sometimes bitterly disappointed.
You were singular, my boy.
Uniquely you.
There was no one before and there will be no one after.
I can only relish in the fact that I got to know you in a way only a mother can. In a singular way that no one else will know. I’m only one of a handful to have had the privilege of knowing you for nearly every year of your short 22 years on this planet.
It is a unique and precious gift and honor to have been your mother. I will be forever changed by your life and your loss. I will be always grateful.

When I reflect on your loss, I am reminded of the preciousness of all life. The miracle and wonder of our uniqueness. Our singularity. Each one of us. Every single person. Every single living being. No one will live in these bodies and in these lives ever again. May we treasure who we are in our fullness and all we meet and encounter.
I love you forever, Amado.
