How long did it take for the reception to be set up? Two days.

Day one:
Draping
Stage plus carpeting
Custom dancefloor
Drop off of bigger furniture pieces such as
Custom bars and barback
Lounge sets
Linens steaming

Day two:
Napkins
Chargers
Butter plates
Silverware
Glassware
Table numbers
Menus
Meal cards
Bar signs
Truss and pendants
Lighting
Ah, let’s not forget all the set up of ceremony and cocktail hour

And probably there is more that my brain now is forgetting.

It just doesn’t magically happen, deliveries are scheduled in a way that trucks are not stuck at the dock one after another, the order of items that gets set follows a specific timeline, the teams need breaks for lunch, and each rental company has specific delivery timings that also needs to be taken in consideration because let’s remember that rental companies have multiple events per day. It takes planning and moreover it takes time + a solid relationship with your vendors. That is why we love working with the best ❤️

Every part of this destination wedding reception in San Diego was so thoughtfully designed, from the beautiful tablescapes to the personalized luggage tags waiting for each guest.

We love when couples put intention into the little things, creating an experience that feels just as meaningful for their guests as it does for them.

Katharine & Dillon, married by the sea 🤍

A ceremony overlooking the Pacific, powder blue woven throughout the day, layers of white florals, and a reception beneath the prettiest woven pendants. Every detail felt fresh, coastal, and incredibly chic without trying too hard.

And these two…so much joy and chemistry from beginning to end.

The night before!

On the eve of their wedding, Gabrielle and Darren gathered thirty-one of their closest family and friends for a welcome dinner.

We designed it the way a summer supper feels in Italy: curated without overdoing it, one long table beneath the olive trees, a mixture of family style plates and two interactive stations, a cacio e pepe wheel and a make your own wood-fired pizza station, tiramisu and a bottle of Limoncello to share between the guests as an after dinner.

The purpose of a welcome dinner is giving a warm, personal beginning before the big day and this was the thought that guided the design and overall feel.

Grazie, Gabrielle and Darren, for giving me the chance to design something that feels deeply personal and thank you to our creative partners for a night that felt effortlessly convivial. 🥂

It all started with the idea of a moon, deep caramel color, throwing an amazing celebration…. and “maybe a couple of trees?”.

A year after it was so exciting to see it come to life.

Everything in this design was basically custom: from the draping sourced and purchased to match the vision, some furniture pieces and tabletop items specifically sourced for this, to the 8ft moon, the custom built trees with real foliage and the specific shade of orchids that was selected for the centerpieces and ground floral, the ceremony aisle build around the curves of the lawn, the custom cake design, the visuals for the afterpart … I could go on and on.

Let’s add that the band was absolutely fantastic and the line up of after party DJ’s were insane and the fact that our newlyweds know how to throw a party… 🎉

Part Two of Gabrielle & Darren’s incredible wedding...once the the sun started to set, the mood really started to kick in with such a fun cocktail atmosphere, stunning reception dripping in florals and great props like a “vintage” phone to record love notes for the couple!

Such a beautiful day, we are so honored to be a part of it! taken in San Diego, California by @maifloraldesign
