About last weekend:

I know I’m quite late with this post but bear with me lmao.
It’s honestly surreal to be amongst such amazing, talented, and experienced industry professionals who believed in me right at the beginning of my career. Giving me an absolutely incredible opportunity to be in such a great film. I just want to give a big thank you @rmorrison for believing me enough to give me this chance to showcase my talent.
@ryandestiny for being an amazing scene partner, I hope I didn’t overwhelm you with all my industry questions on set haha
@briantyreehenry for being a great example of an on set professional; trust me I took many notes from you sir
@olunikeadeliyi for giving me advice on my career every chance she gets, I am so grateful.

@bandrybarry - thank you so much for the words you gave me at the premier, very unexpected and honestly meant the world to me. It was a privilege to be able to work on script made by you.

Also s/o to @claressashields for being THE inspiration behind it all, a true testament of perseverance, tenacity, and an absolute unwavering spirit. It was an honour to meet you and play a part of your story.

Some of you know this but for those of you who don’t; I actually booked this role 6 weeks after dropping out of school to pursue acting. This felt like a huge affirmation and confirmation from God/Universe that this was the right decision, the right path for me to take. That was February 2020. Yup, right when COVID really hit. The world actually shut down officially in Toronto the day I was supposed to start shooting.

I spent the next 2 years shadow boxing and sparring with friends trying to get prepared for this role. This role not only gave me the confidence and assurance that I could become a successful actor, but also introduced me to a new love; boxing.

I can’t wait for the rest of the world to see the magic that we made.
@thefireinsidemovie - To change everything, She gave everything.

26 was the most difficult year you’ve ever experienced, but it also bestowed upon you the most important lessons of your life.
I’d have it no other way. Thank you God.
Cheers to 27, let this year bring even more blessings than the last one.

The past couple months were a dream come true. Thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone involved in @kungfulandmovie. I can’t wait for the world to see what we made.

Thank you God for everything.
You healed my heart, restored my faith, and put my life back together. My soul is full, I could never repay you. I promise to maintain this fullness and spread your light.

I’ve been wanting to make this video ever since I’ve been back on instagram. This has honestly been the most difficult year I’ve ever experienced in my life. Last y’all saw I was at TIFF, I disappeared and now y’all see me working a gig in Singapore. But so much happened in between I felt compelled to share the journey and most importantly the lessons I learned. The video was originally twice as long so let’s thank Instagram Edits for not letting me export anything longer than 10 minutes. I don’t expect many people to watch this the whole way through, but for the few that do, I hope you find it as valuable to you as this past year has been for me.
God Bless. by @mansa.idrissa

Singapore!
Our days here are winding down, and the cast of @kungfulandmovie just wanted to say thank you in advance for accommodating us in such a beautiful city.
(Even though we were in the studio most of the time 😅)
