Smooth roads and big smiles 👌🏼

So lekker to enjoy the open farm roads that Bloem has to offer. Could spend hours out here.

Happy Heritage day to all my Saffa’s 🇿🇦

Enjoy that Borrie Roll 🤤

It’s these moments when you’re sidelined that you begin to appreciate the privilege of being able to run, walk, cycle or workout and more - freely and without restriction.

Being forced to rest and recover from a Gr2 torn calf has helped me reflect on everything I’ve already done this year and what I still have planned to do. Grateful that my body allows me to achieve these (sometimes ridiculous) goals I set for myself.

🟨⬛️Comrades Marathon 2026 Debut 🟨⬛️

It wasn’t the ideal build-up, but life rarely goes exactly to plan. We all have our own hurdles to overcome and that’s part of the journey.

What stood out most wasn’t the distance (don’t get me wrong, 86km is a long way to run), but the incredible community that comes together for this race. The support from complete strangers, the encouragement along the route from all the volunteers and spectators… watching others join me on debut, others getting their green numbers - then being 84yo and finishing. Incredible.

Grateful to have experienced my first Comrades and proud to be part of a day that reminds you what people are capable of when they lift each other up. Here’s to many more miles ahead. I’ll be back… for my back to back!

Side note: I’m starting a petition to rename Polly Shorts 🤣

SA Road Champs 2026 🇿🇦

Really great morning out trying to defend the SA jersey. Controlled the peloton, stopped attacks - really proud of what the team did out there 💪🏻 not entirely the result we wanted, but great to get @thatsomik onto the 🥈 step!

@raymondwagener we build and focus on next year!

Big shout out to @peak_racing_za for the support 💪🏻 special feature by @bradleyflemingbtp 🙌🏼

Now we build to 2Oceans and Comrades before switching back to 947 & DC...

Top-5 finish at the @oldmutualwealthdc 2025 with the boys @rouleurtritans . Many know the day didn’t go as I had planned, but the real victory was the weekend with the boys.

A hard ride, a bachelors, a few beers — but a reminder that time with friends is the real winner. Wouldn’t trade a minute. Looking forward to the next weekend away, but with a better nutrition plan 😉

Great weekend out in Rooiwal on Woman’s Day. A day off hard racing with @peak_racing_za

First race in PEaK colors and my first podium🥉 - I have put a lot of time into my cycling over the last 6 months and it’s great to see the reward. Not too bad for a triathlete.

Congrats to @hermanfouche87 🥇 and @dominique.janssen.90 🥈

Looking forward to the next few races as we build towards @oldmutualwealthdc in November.

Completing @maverick.athletic Triple Challenge 2025 with a cruise through Suikerbos Nature Reserve and then the Cradle.

Last 3months of no excuses, no skipping a session - riding every day for 92 days.

- 4100km+
- 48,000m+ elevation gain
- 137h+

Long rides, first podium and many punctures have been my theme for the last while, but I have learnt a lot about this sport I have fell in love with! Feeling strong as we build towards DC with the boys @rouleurtritans

Congrats to my comrades whom completed the Tri, run or cycle challenge 🙌🏼

T-2weeks until @ironmansouthafrica #Mosselbay with @maverick.athletic

Being out in the bush and still being able to train, albeit with the heat - is a big win…

2025 - the year that chose to test me…

Not ideal prep, body or mindset going into my third @ironmansouthafrica - but I made it to the start line and pulled out a personal best result in tough conditions.

After a brief visit to medical tent post race, I can be happy with the result… leaving it all out there. Top 10 in 30-34.

Thank you to all of those in my corner, you know who you are 🫶🏻 This wouldn’t have been possible without the love and support of my parents @felixw & @lynne.walraven

Proud to rep @maverick.athletic family

My debut at @totalsportstwooceansmarathon with @maverick.athletic 🤙🏼

Considering that I wasn’t really able to run a month ago 🙌🏼 big shout out to @lara_the_physio and @mi_rehabandperformance for getting me to enjoy the race completely pain free!

An Ultra Marathon is a long run 😅 but looking forward to an even longer one with my debut at @comradesmarathon in June.

What a privilege it is to push the body to these limits!
