My first @imsouthafrica event… where to start.

What a day out with family, friends and team mates. Not the full event we wanted (shortened swim), but overall proud of what I did. Hit my bike split on the head with a slower run than I had hoped for… also my first ever marathon.

Shout out to my coach @coachnickport and my team mates @maverick.athletic with special mention to @lex_claasen_fit @shaneandrews_ @mike_ferreira97 for preparing me for this…

Special mention to my parents @felixw and @lynne.walraven for all the support leading up to the event and then coming to support me tick a bucket list item, in addition to @jtully70 and @jonathan_tully for all their help and support.

Saving the best for last, thank you to @courts_amber_ for everything, and I mean absolutely everything… getting up early, waiting longer for me to finish, putting up with my moans and groans… too much more to mention…thank you my sweets!

Can’t wait to race my next IM.. full swim included…

Three years later, it was finally great to be back at #Belgotex #BECC with a new club @wanderershockeyclubsa representing the @wanderersjockeys1stxi in our 🦩🦩 kit.

So good to find our form again after a bit of a dip. Came out the gate hot with a 7-1, 4-3 and 3-1 wins to make it into the finals vs our long standing JHB rivals @beaulieuhockey

A strong start put us 2-0 up going into the last Q. Never count a team out, as we eventually lost 2-4. Congrats to Beaulieu 🍺.

I was nursing a hamstring strain going into this, really glad to have it hold out.

Lots of memories cast, new friends made and as Riverside tradition - too many adult beverages enjoyed!

Thank you @hockey_at_riverside for hosting the @belgotexsport Elite Club Challenge and an even bigger Shout out to @esmedia.za for the broadcast and photos!

It’s been 11 months since my very first triathlon, and 4 months since my first 70.3 distance triathlon…

Being a part of the @maverick.athletic family, guided by the best coach I could ask for @haydncorke - the team creating an atmosphere that pushes me every morning at Track, in the pool with @mike_ferreira97 - has allowed me to only see my potential. The last 4 months of training has resulted in a 51min improvement on my last performance.

I am feeling stronger.
I am feeling fitter.
I am feeling motivated.

I am only just beginning in this sport and look forward to the journey ahead.

New bike arriving soon and can only imagine the difference that will make!

Watch this space.

2021 - the year I challenged myself to take on triathlon. Joining @maverick.athletic was the best thing for my physical and mental health after “2020” happened.

Being surrounded by so many athletes and professionals, that strive to just be better people, better athletes and better versions of yourself.

Huge shout out to my coach @haydncorke who has taught me a lot about the sport and about myself. Heading towards my full Ironman ambitions, he has lead me through my first 3 triathlons (Durban sprint, RedHub Olympic, JHB Ultra). JHB Ultra was no joke, made even more challenging with those conditions.

I look forward to what 2022 holds, as I get more involved in events and putting my head down to be consistent with training..

Thank you to everyone who has been supporting, encouraging and congratulating me - you have no idea how much that fuels you… thank you thank you.

After such a motivational effort by my team @maverick.athletic that kicked ass this passed weekend at @imsouthafrica - I am looking forward to @bactivesa #jhbultra

Final prep going into the last hard week of training before we taper - this will be my longest tri to date. Having completed the @redhubevents Olympic distance a few weekends ago - time to double that up to 1.9km swim, 90km cycle and 21km trail run.

Let’s hope the conditions play in our favor, as the heat + hills = hurt 😅

Thanks goes to my coach @haydncorke for managing my ambitiousness and drive since the tri-bug bit me!

First year into triathlon:
- Sprint ✅
- Olympic / 5150 ✅
- 70.3 ✅

The second best thing our parents gave us, was each other...

Sometimes people say they can't tell me and my sister apart. Here's a hint: I'm the pretty one.

Great day out of the house to get some form of social life during lockdown. Also, the best fruit and veg in the province! Even better is the Dutch import section.

In theme of a “blue Monday” I thought I would post a pic of me living on the edge. Looking forward to my first week back in NL after an amazing 4 week vacation back in #southafrica , even if the weather is terrible. Unbelievable trip with so much to look forward to this year.
#2018 is a year of big dreams and big moves, some say as big as the #blyderivercanyon displayed in the photo ;) Loving the presets form @petermckinnon 👌🏼 #watchthisspace #picoftheday #canyon #river #livingontheedge #future #manonamission #cliff
