“Desire” — a poem about the desire to allow myself to experience life fully. About my relationship with masculinity. About dysphoria that reoccurs in cyclical patterns, but dims in the process of steping beyond triggers. About seeing the same things in a different light. About freeing the body from the blockages of pain 🗡️ The poem emphasizes a long desired holistic landing into the self and into wholeness; into a state where life flows through the body so smoothly that it replaces the familiar pain with the unfamiliarity of desire. #frombeginningtowherever by @marttolpman

Finding solid ground steps to the forefront of collective necessity. How do we navigate this transitional period, when non-compliance becomes as essential as air? The suffocating nature of systemic pressure becomes too obvious, and as the global majority uprises against oppression, we desperately need a sense of grounding.

Queer Lives in Transit believes that queerness has always been a continuous practice of resilience. Insisting on growing through the cracks of the rigid concrete systemic fundament, our sprouts have been blooming and preserving the cultural, political, relational, cosmological diversities and differences of resistance.

Queerness has always been here to remind what it means to exist, preserving diversity and life in her raw form. Opposing systemic ideologies, including homonormativity, cisnormativity, whiteness and eurocentrism, we aim to collect queer thought, practice and experience that dismantles the colonial paradigm.

Deadline 31.10. Looking forward for your contributions 📖🛐🤍

Sincerely,
Queer Lives in Transit

Abandoned Medicine, clay figure

Inspired by deep anger.

While passing fields of abandoned medicine I cannot think about anything but how disconnected we are from land and from life as an ecosystem. From whatever grows under our feet and from the memory that we ourselves are an extension of the land. We abandon and neglect the earth, entertain ourselves with creating artificial hells, while the earth keeps on providing and observing our ignorance with a slight mock.

The land holds memory. Abused land, rejected land, exploited land — returning to land is collective accountability.

Flowers are pretty but exceptionally powerful. Plants teach, but we have reduced flowers to their beauty and we exploit that beauty because listening would require a lot of shedding.

Therefore silencing grants comfort. But this comfort is not even comfortable, it is soul wrecking.

The medicine on the rock: plantain, chamomile, poppy, purple mullein, dandelion.

Systems are substitutes for ecosystems. Returning to land will return us to our ecosystems. The variety and diversity of systems that we should implement to manage our lives are already preserved in the land we stand on — land speaks, and we should become wise enough to stop and listen.

This is the core of #landback . Apart from freeing the lands from colonial occupation, returning them to indigenous peoples, to the peoples whose ecosystem those lands represent. And who, since ancient times, have been listening to the land and carry the Land’s wisdom within their own bodies.

WORLDVIEW is a project focused on questioning the colonial paradigm. On creating change, not by theorizing but by acting and questioning our preconceived beliefs and ways of knowing. Creating worldviews and living them is the only way out of the monopolised reality.

Rooted, 2021
#frombeginningtowherever #poetry #queerpoetry

Roots rooted in fruits that
Grow out of the roots
Contributed to secrecy
with no decency
Only increasing frequency of bloody consequences
Built by fences, dividing and separating defenceless souls
Killing all chances of loving embraces
Sections of segregated settlers
Bewildered by uncertainty
Believed by serenity

Embrace the cold cold hearted villain nurture the inner long lost demon
Its not a demon - its fright and loneliness capable of being cured by love
Toothpicks in my bloody gum
Little perverts with their messy language dismantle the mentor
For he dismantled their freedom
Don't fuck with their freedom
Unlike you they use condoms and don't coerce.
Dismantle the mentor until your fingertips tickle the air
Until the blossom of hierarchy withers and your hair creates a new chapter
For my fear is real
And your silence kills
them
As if they didn't know they were following transparent features of a deceit
And we repeat
Our mistakes putting higher stakes into well-known lies
Waking up only when our brother dies
Replacing bliss with a epiphany of cries
What lies will you tell
What dreams will you sell
What will you do with all this when you wither and die?
Will you follow the day?
Or rearrange your ways?

The day that followed they poured milk into the jar
Tilted the jar
Broke the jar
Got rid of the jar
They were just pacifists. by @marttolpman

Painting & essay

“A Body of Water and a Body of Fire” intertwines fury, love, anger, soothingness, rage, care, lust, and surrender. A tribute to autonomy, nurtured resilience and reclaimed desire. A state where dualities are not feared but collide, making life flow through the body so smoothly as if it has been coated in oil.

კავშირი is about re-rooting and insisting upon identity & origin // while i pay tribute to the lands, i cannot bypass the extremely patriarchal realities of the region, the exploitation the land faces due to attempts to commercialize it, the economical dependency and, in the majority of cases, life on the verge of survival due to this commercialization that ruins ecosystems, rips people off from their connection with their land // as a decolonial researcher & practitioner who puts #landback (an Indigenous-led movement aimed at reclaiming authority, stewardship, and ownership of ancestral lands to restore sovereignty, culture, and sustainable practices) to the centerpiece, i cannot bleed more on how necessary re-rooting and trying to restore sovereignty is // sovereignty starts with decentralization and only direct localization can truly restore and prevent the destruction ✢ #art #trans #artispolitical #decolonize by @marttolpman
