It’s been four and some years since we first met and so much life has happened since. Moving in together, an African adventure, our safari engagement, a beautiful wedding, and building a home together for our family, which is about to become a third larger. I’m in awe of the power given to you — and to all women — to create life with your body. What a gift it is to witness it, to experience it beside you, and to fall even more deeply in love with you through it all. It’s been 365 days — a full rotation around the sun — but it feels like it was just yesterday when we lived this moment.

Flashbacks of those three days in Barcelona come to me every week and make me smile in my heart. Spaces full of the people we love and walk through life alongside — what a gift to have experienced that.

Looking back at that day, the time before it, and everything since, I wouldn’t change a thing.

Juliana, you’ve taught me so much since our first date. But maybe the greatest gift has been understanding that marriage is many things at once—it’s a lifelong study of each other: how we share, love, mourn, think, rest, and connect. In the end, it’s simply another way of saying, “I love you, I choose you,” every hour of every day.

Marriage, like love, is a mirror. If you’re lucky, you’ll see both the best and the worst of yourself in it. Those two ends—light and darkness—live in all of us, and true love allows them to coexist as you learn to move through them.

Yesterday, as we drove through the fall landscapes of Great Barrington, it hit me: I don’t need much more than this. My love, my family, and a close circle of friends who cheer and support us every day. Life is good.

This poem, which was part of my vows, still says it best:

And if I could live life again
I would repeat every mistake
So long as it leads me back to you.

IT’S FINALLY DONE 🖤

After two years of passionate work, I’m excited to show you the first custom HOVS motorcycle in collaboration with the great @oneyedeer

It all began with a photograph.

As I walked through the streets of Brooklyn I spotted a motorcycle that caught my eye – a beautiful modified 1984 BMW R80.

Excited about the bike, I snapped a photo and send it to my friend @matiascorea. Fate intervened when Matias revealed the motorcycle was owned by @trochut and built by his friend @oneyedeer

A connection was made, and a vision began to take shape.

The project started with a running 1984 BMW R80ST (which we ultimately switched to a R100R) – a solid donor bike that would soon prove to be just the beginning of a much grander transformation.

I imagined something that wouldn’t feel too fabricated. It had to be handmade, something with charm, something with a unique personality and road presence.

During the initial research phase, Seba discovered my Mercedes 190E from 1989 with its distinctive warm metallic grey finish. An idea was born. The car’s angular lines, blocky headlights, and tail spoiler sparked an audacious idea. What if we created a „sacrilegious concept“ by combining BMW and Mercedes design languages? It was unconventional, but we embraced the creative tension.

The finished bike represents a retro-futuristic interpretation on the classic BMW airhead. We teamed up with @mythmotor to completely overhaul the engine and transmission. @marlonarboledaf did magic with his 3D modeling skills to help produce the front-fairing. @ashleykeeper developed the custom tank badge, a little piece of jewelry in itself.

I was designing interfaces this am, and I pulled this image from@my desktop. I was sitting in my studio, in my comfy chair, with air conditioning and realized that only 10 months ago I was riding through Africa with my best friend @joelestopa in intense heat, sweating our soul off as we traversed Zambia on our way to Namibia. This was a hard and testing day for the both of us, but also we were in perfect adventure synch with each other. In that moment I wanted the day to be over with. Today I would teleport myself to that very moment with a smile on my face. In the end, moments and days like this are the ones that stay etched in your memory, and no great adventure is filled with easy days.m, perspective is everything. by @matiascorea

Delivered today after 4 months traveling from South Africa by sea. After uncreating them it started raining, and while I was watching it sit on the sidewalk under the rain, I realized that it was today when the African journey had bee completed.

A sequence of memories that connect more with the sensorial and less with the anecdotal, the forward motion, the motivation, the goals. A friendship that has given me so much in my life, an adventure with all colors of the emotional spectrum. Mixed feelings on this cloudy spring day.

I cry as I type, overwhelmed with flashes of the past. I think about memory and presence. How reality change yes with time and context.
