3 things the enemy makes a husband do when intimacy dies...

1. He goes silent. He's not cold. He's discouraged. The enemy whispers "she doesn't want you," so he stops reaching.

2. He escapes. Work. Gym. Phone. Anything that doesn't feel like rejection. It's not that he loves you less. He's numbing the ache.

3.He builds a wall. Pride takes over. He decides it's safer not to need you than to risk being turned away again.
None of this is who he is. It's what the enemy is doing to him.

And the marriage that feels dead? God specializes in resurrection.

Nobody talks about this enough in Christian marriages.
When sex and intimacy start disappearing, we usually blame stress, kids, work, hormones, or just being tired.
And sometimes those things are absolutely part of it.
But I also believe there’s a spiritual battle happening in our marriages.
Here are 5 reasons the enemy wants to attack your sex life:

It creates distance.
When intimacy disappears, it’s easy to start feeling more like roommates than husband and wife.

It creates rejection.
One spouse feels unwanted. The other feels pressured. Nobody talks about it, and resentment starts building.

It opens the door to temptation.
Paul literally warns married couples about this in 1 Corinthians 7:5. The enemy loves getting into the spaces we stop protecting.
It keeps you in shame and silence.

Porn. Past wounds. Insecurity. Rejection. Things you’ve never told your spouse. The enemy wants that stuff hidden because healing starts when it comes into the light.
Because intimacy creates unity.

God designed a husband and wife to become one flesh.
Genesis 2:24.
So of course the enemy wants to attack the very thing God designed to bring you together.

If sex has become a painful or disconnected part of your marriage, don’t just ignore it and hope it fixes itself.
We’ve lived through a broken marriage ourselves. We know what distance feels like, and we also know what God can restore.

3 REASONS YOU’RE STILL TRAPPED IN LUST
📖 “Flee from sexual immorality.” — 1 Corinthians 6:18
Lust doesn’t usually disappear because you want it to. You have to change what you feed, where you run, and what you’re fighting for.
1. YOU KEEP FEEDING WHAT YOU’RE TRYING TO KILL.
You pray for freedom… but keep consuming the same content, following the same accounts, and entertaining the same thoughts.
📖 “I will set no wicked thing before mine eyes.” — Psalm 101:3
2. YOU’RE TRYING TO FIGHT A SPIRITUAL BATTLE WITH WILLPOWER.
Discipline matters—but lasting freedom requires surrender to God. Stop asking, “How strong can I be?” and start asking, “How close can I stay to Christ?”
📖 “Walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.” — Galatians 5:16
3. YOU HAVEN’T REMOVED ACCESS TO YOUR TRIGGERS.
If something repeatedly pulls you back into sin, stop negotiating with it. Unfollow it. Block it. Delete it. Get accountability.
📖 “Make no provision for the flesh, to gratify its desires.” — Romans 13:14
Brother, freedom isn’t just about saying NO to lust.
It’s about saying YES to something greater.
Purity. Purpose. Discipline. Your marriage. Your future wife. And most importantly—Jesus Christ.
📖 “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.” — Matthew 5:8

5 reasons God allows you to be married to a husband who isn't spiritually leading yet:

To move your trust from him to God
To make you a woman of prayer
To heal the fear underneath
Because He's working where you can't see
To build something that lasts

Praying for him is not the same as waiting on him. 🤍

3 things the enemy makes a husband believe when his wife stops initiating...

"She doesn't desire me anymore." Rejection hits a man deeper than he'll ever admit, and the enemy turns one cold night into a identity wound.

"I'm not enough." He starts to feel like a failure as a husband, so he withdraws, goes quiet, or buries himself in work, the gym, or his phone.

"Nothing is ever going to change." Hopelessness is the enemy's favorite weapon in a dry season, because a man who stops fighting stops praying.
Wife, his silence isn't always indifference. Often it's pain he doesn't know how to say out loud.

Husband, this isn't the end of your story. The war is spiritual, and restoration is possible.

3 reasons God lets a man hit rock bottom before He restores his marriage...

Pride has to break first. A man who still thinks he can fix it himself won't surrender it to God.
He has to stop carrying it alone. Rock bottom strips away the image of the strong man with it all together, and honesty finally becomes possible.
God is rebuilding his foundation. He doesn't just want the marriage back. He wants a husband who leads with humility, repentance, and prayer.
If you're a husband at the bottom right now, this isn't the end. It's where the restoration starts.

3 reasons God allows you to stay stuck in a broken marriage

1. He's trying to get your attention. Sometimes the pain is the only thing that gets people to stop running on autopilot and start asking what's really going on. God isn't punishing you. He's calling you to look at what you've been ignoring.
2. There's something in you that needs healing. Old wounds, unforgiveness, and the way you learned to handle conflict all show up in your marriage. If you don't deal with it, you'll carry it into every fight.
3. You're meant to get help instead of doing this alone. A lot of couples keep trying harder with the same tools and getting the same results. Most of the time, God answers by putting the right guidance in front of you, and pride is what makes people walk past it.

Being stuck doesn't mean it's over. It means something has to change, and it starts with you.

You get a husband and wife team who have come back from divorce and restored their marriage with Christ at the center. This isn't typical marriage counseling. This is real life marriage coaching.

3 reasons praying harder isn't fixing your marriage

You're asking God to change your spouse but you haven't changed anything yourself. Alignment comes first, and that means how you talk, how you lead, and how you react when things get hard.
You've got old wounds you never dealt with. Unforgiveness and hurt will keep you stuck no matter how many times you pray about the same thing.
You're trying to do this alone. A lot of the time God answers your prayer by sending you the right help, and most people ignore it because of pride.

I've seen marriages turn around when people finally stopped just praying about it and started doing the work.

The enemy doesn't have to destroy your marriage if he can keep you fighting each other. 🔥

And that's exactly why so many Christian couples are exhausted.

You're praying. You're going to counseling. You're reading the marriage books. You're trying to communicate better.

But somehow, you keep ending up in the SAME arguments, the SAME cycles, and the SAME pain.

What if you've been addressing the symptoms while ignoring the spiritual roots?

Unhealed trauma. Rejection. Abandonment. Bitterness. Unforgiveness. Generational patterns. Spiritual strongholds.

The enemy would love nothing more than to keep you fighting your spouse instead of recognizing the spiritual battles that may be affecting your marriage.

Ephesians 6:12 reminds us that we do not wrestle against flesh and blood.

Your spouse is NOT your enemy.

And here's something I wish more Christian couples understood:

DELIVERANCE ISN'T JUST ABOUT CASTING OUT DEMONS. IT'S ABOUT WALKING IN THE FREEDOM JESUS ALREADY PAID FOR.

Sometimes there are wounds in our souls that have never been healed. Places where we've partnered with lies, fear, rejection, unforgiveness, or bitterness.

And we believe the enemy can use those unhealed places to keep people trapped in destructive cycles.

That's why biblical inner healing and deliverance are such important parts of our ministry.

Deliverance isn't always a one-time event. Often, it's a process of allowing the Holy Spirit to reveal and heal deeper layers, renouncing lies, repenting where necessary, forgiving offenses, and learning to walk in the freedom Christ has given us.

And when individuals begin walking in freedom, it can transform the way they show up in their marriage.

My husband and I know what it's like to have a marriage that looked completely beyond repair.

We divorced in 2015. God restored our relationship, and we remarried in 2018.

Today, through our Kingdom Marriage Mastermind and private marriage coaching, we help Christian couples pursue that same kind of healing and restoration.

We don't just teach communication strategies.

We address the HEART.

Your wife didn't stop loving you. She started protecting her heart.
When intimacy dies, the enemy doesn't need her to leave. He just needs her to go cold and quiet.

3 things the enemy makes a wife do when intimacy dies:

She stops reaching for you. Not because the desire is gone. One rejection hurt more than she ever told you, so she decided it was safer not to try again.
She starts keeping score. Every forgotten date, every night you chose your phone, every conversation you half listened to. It all becomes proof that she's alone in this.
She carries it in silence. She tells her friends, her journal, and God. She just stopped telling you, because she got tired of not being heard.

Husbands, she isn't pulling away from you. She's pulling away from the pain.
Wives, if this is you, you're not broken and you're not too much. You've been carrying this alone for too long.
This can be rebuilt. It starts with one honest conversation.

The enemy is strategic.

He doesn't attack random marriages.
He attacks the ones God has marked.

And if you are a faith-filled wife who has been carrying your covenant through your husband's lukewarm season — through the betrayal, through the silence, through the seasons where you wondered if God even heard you —

I need you to hear this:

The intensity of the attack on your marriage is not evidence that God got it wrong.
It's evidence of what He placed on it.

The enemy is counting on you giving up before the breakthrough.

He knows what's on the other side of your marriage being restored.

The testimony that sets other couples free.

The generational pattern of covenant your children are watching you model.

The Kingdom assignment your marriage was always supposed to carry.

He cannot afford to let you get there.
So he comes after your intimacy.

Your trust.
Your husband's heart.

Your belief that restoration is still possible.
Don't give him what he came for.
Matt and I were divorced in 2015.
There was betrayal on both sides.
Everyone around us said it was over.
God wasn't finished.

He restored what we handed Him in pieces.
He rebuilt what we thought was gone forever.
And what He built on the other side of the hardest season of our lives is better than anything we had before.

That is not a highlight reel.
That is our testimony.

And it is the foundation of everything we do in the Kingdom Marriage Mastermind.

For the faith-filled wife who is still standing.
For the husband who is finally ready to show up.
For the couple who knows their marriage is about more than just surviving.

Inner healing. Deliverance. Covenant rebuilt on something that actually holds.
Both of you. Together. Willing.

Comment MARRIAGE below if you're believing for restoration and you're ready to fight for it with the right support. 🕊️

The enemy doesn't start with your marriage. He starts with the man in it.
Think about it. Take down the husband and the whole house feels it. That's why so many men are tired, distracted, or quietly checked out.

5 reasons the enemy targets the husband first:

He's the one called to lead. Attack the leader and the whole family loses direction.
He's wired to carry things alone. So the enemy feeds him silence, pride, and the lie that needing help is weakness.
His identity is tied to provision. Make him feel like a failure at work or with money, and he starts pulling away at home.
He's easy to distract. Porn, phone, work, gym, anything that keeps him busy and disconnected from his wife.

A praying husband is dangerous. When a man rises into his calling with a wife praying beside him, the enemy loses ground. So he goes after him early.

Husbands, if you've been feeling numb, tired, or stuck, that's not random. Stand up. Pray. Talk to your wife. Don't fight this alone.

Wives, send this to him. Not as a correction, but as an invitation.
Follow me for part 2, where I break down how a husband takes his ground back.
