Artist, author and founder of @bullcloughartschool Nellie Shepherd will be exhibiting her paintings at this year’s Manchester Art Fair, where she will also lead the masterclasses.

Nellie’s career spans painting, publishing and arts education. She has written a series of international art books published by Penguin and created art events for Angelina Jolie, Madonna, J. K. Rowling and Richard Curtis to name but a few. At Bullclough Art School, she welcomes students from around the world.

At the heart of this varied career is her own painting practice: an exploration of colour, composition and the interplay between considered shapes and spontaneous lines. Her still lifes and abstract landscapes reflect a fascination with how a painting develops—and how much can be achieved by taking something away.

Visitors can discover her original work throughout the fair and gain an insight into her approach through the masterclasses.
Simply book your Manchester Art Fair 2026 ticket and select your preferred masterclass or workshop as an add-on ☝️

Already booked your fair ticket? You can still join in. Select your chosen day, skip the Day Ticket and click Continue. Choose your preferred masterclass or workshop, click Continue again and pay. Your masterclass e-tickets will then be emailed to you by @mcrartfair

We’re delighted to welcome @mollies_manchester as the new hotel partner of Manchester Art Fair! 🎨

Mollie’s has landed in Manchester inside the iconic Old Granada Studios, the legendary home of TV moments from The Beatles to the Sex Pistols. This landmark building has been reimagined as a bold new base to stay, meet, eat and hang out right in the heart of the city.

Mollie's first city-centre hotel features 128 design-led rooms and suites, an all-day Mollie’s Diner, lively Studio IV cocktail bar with live music, and curated art throughout. Whether you’re here for work, weekends or nights out Mollie’s is made for good times, great sleep, and a warm welcome.

We’re thrilled to have Mollie’s on board and look forward to sharing more with you! by @mcrartfair

The White Hours

This painting echoes my love of Shakespeare’s The Winter’s Tale. Having studied Hermione, I’m drawn to its sense of time suspended and life held within stillness—qualities reflected in the painting’s winter light and restless dark lines.

The Stillness of Life

This painting imagines flowers left by Leontes before Hermione’s statue in Shakespeare’s The Winter’s Tale—an offering of love and remorse. The title plays on the still-life genre and her awakening: life emerging from stillness.

I am so excited about this painting. I woke up multiple times during the night thinking about it and wanting to get back into the gallery. Telling my artistic brain to switch off and sleep tends to be difficult at the best of times, but when I decide to challenge myself with a piece like this it becomes almost impossible.

I am still mapping the figures out on the canvas. Although I sketched this painting first, I will be constantly looking at how the figures look on their own and how they are positioned and feel with each other.

The finished piece will be on my stand number 900 @mcrartfair (Manchester Art Fair) from the 19-22 November. DM me if you are thinking of going and would like complimentary tickets.

While London was buzzing with art fairs and exhibitions during Frieze Week, we took a different route and visited the studio of one of our artists, Tatiana Fetisova @tf_tf_art

There, we had a rare glimpse into her creative world, where personal memories, emotions and storytelling come to life through oil on canvas. We revisited her collection of series - Sweet Artificiality, I Am Nothing Till Filled and Friends Again, each revealing a different layer of her artistic practice.

Tatiana also unveiled her exciting new mixed-media works featuring delicate stitching on canvas, inspired by childhood memories and her connection with nature.

At @miladoartgallery we love these intimate encounters with artists, hearing the stories behind their work and seeing the world through the artist’s eyes.

@tf_tf_art work will be showcased at @mcrartfair 19-22 November 2026,

My Discovered Land

This paining emerged through loose, intuitive marks, gradually finding its shape through strong composition and contrasts of light and dark. Atmospheric perspective carries the eye towards the grey horizon, while pinks and flashes of yellow bring the foreground closer—a landscape discovered through the act of painting.
