🏊‍♂️🚴‍♂️🏃‍♂️ Double IRONMAN Triathlon Documentary ⬇️

As you guys know — sub 2:55 was the goal.
✅ 2:52 (+1 min for my traditional mid-race poop stop… it’s a habit now).

Massive S/O to the savage in the IRONMAN hat. Around 36 km, he passed me, looked back, and instantly lit a fire in me. ..

I took that personally.

My legs were screaming, but all I could hear was Goggins in my head telling me not to be a lil’ bitch.

From there it was war — 6 km of straight leapfrogging. Iron sharpens iron, and this dude was a weapon… but at 41.5 km, I took his soul for good. (Photo #4)

Sometimes, you need an “enemy” that doesn’t actually exist to pull the absolute best out of yourself. Today, that worked.

Let’s GOOO!!! 🔥

ℹ️ Story time - Long Post ⬇️ -
🏋️‍♂️ 11 months ago I started working as a Personal Trainer & saw a video online about IRONMAN triathlons. I needed a new challenge in my life and lifting weights wasn’t providing that. It looked impossible the distances these skinny endurance athletes were doing without stopping. Ironman in a nutshell is a race/competition covering 140 miles via Swimming, Biking & Running. If that wasn’t already crazy enough my cardio was so bad from partying my way across New Zealand & Europe that I could barely even swim a lap. But, the seed was planted in my brain and I started watching more and more videos about it. -
🧠 Then one day I went against all the doubts & insecurities in my head, said fuck it and signed up for it. I didn’t own a bike and hadn’t rode one for years, I could barely swim 25 metres without grabbing the sides of the pool exhausted, and was an average runner at best. -
🤔 Honestly though guys I had no clue how to get myself ready for the race in less than a year, so what did I do? I sought out likeminded people who could help me achieve my goal. I joined organized swim practices through @halifaxtriathlonclub ,hired a triathlon and swim coaches. Shoutout to @sean_berrigan96 & @cjamesbold who’ve helped me become a less awful swimmer. -
✅ Fast forward 9 months of preparation, 500+ logged training/recovery hours and I just had the best day of my life on Sunday. At least 3 different times in the race I wanted to quit, but something magical happens when you push through those negative feelings and self doubt. On the other side of the physical suffering was a sense of accomplishment I can’t even describe. -
🔄 The reason I’m telling you all this is simple, I want to inspire more people to set big crazy goals that excite you and scare you at the same time. Then COMMIT to it, sign up, book the ticket, pay for it, whatever. Make it real and then go all fucking in.

You can figure the rest out afterwards 🔚

We did it!

I know there was some doubt and speculation out there about whether we were all talk or if we’d actually be able to pull this insane challenge off or not...but we did the thing we said we were gonna do! 💪🏽

✅ Longest known triathlon in Nova Scotia completed (that we know of at-least!)

✅ 54 hours start to finish (4 hrs ocean swimming, 30 hrs biking and 20 hrs running + rests)

✅ 547kms travelled from CB to Halifax, seeing 3 sunrises, 2 sunsets, eating over 20,000 calories burned, and fundraised approx $34,500 for @bbbshfx

What an incredible and humbling experience it was.

It’s a beautiful feeling to have the opportunity to give back to your community, while also doing something crazy with friends and family, all while testing your own limits in the process.

Shoutout to my fellow athletes @solly_95 & @matthewcode ,my crew, all of our volunteers, the pacers, everyone who donated, the charity and of course thank you to our amazing sponsors.

Shoutout to @ilienfero for being rockstars and filming the WHOLE weekend, the documentary will be epic when it drops sometime in 2022 🤯

We couldn’t have done it without the unwavering support from our friends, family and fellow Nova Scotians! We love and appreciate you all ❤️🙏🏼

The weekend was a massive success and I can’t wait to share the official event photos/videos with you all!

Game is improving slow and steady. Golf is a grind to get better at but so are most things in life. Gotta put in the reps and make the little tweaks along the way 👍

You being tired is valid. Paradoxically to get less tired you’re gonna have to spend some energy upfront.
