Angeles Crest 100

One of the original five 100 mile races and the first one hundred I ever heard of. 7 years ago it was an idea to make this race my first one hundred. Slowly the idea became a dream, then to a goal and now a reality. It isn't exact.  Would of loved the original point to point, but still love I'll be exploring local mountains I've never been on. Doing a discoved passion that has healed me so much. Truly a blessing I love sharing. Thank you all for the wonderful send off and support. 💛

They say at Angeles crest you are with the Angels. Glad to be having extra strength and protection out here 🤍🤍

Saturday 5:00 am it's go time. Let's get this third buckle 🔥 by @mee_mooch

Angeles Crest 100 one week ago 💛

I trained hard and so proud how much I ran. Even with one of my worst fears running with smoke all around and my least worries that ended up happening, stomach issues. I finished.

Now I truly understand why this course and race is so hard. The unexpected happens when your in high elevation for so long, course with 21+ft gain, and exposed heat with tight cut offs. You get put to the test. Grateful I wasn't alone.

Recovery has been coming along well. My sleep is finally becoming normal. Rash from poodle bush, or the heat is almost gone. Just my lung compacity is a bit off. I probably used the inhailor a bit too much. My legs feel normal. Which is crazy, but it leaves me so happy and blessed. My first hundo left me sick and out of running over a month.

It's incredible what the body and mind can do when you keep working 🥹 💛 by @mee_mooch

First Female and 5th overall. Running 123.17 miles.

Going into this race I had made several goals. Top female and getting to 100 were the main ones. To be honest I doubted myself and thought was this achievable. Or a goal too big? Until I saw Sarah Perry almost hit 400. It changed my mindset I wanted to go in. Podium for females pass 100, and try to win it.

Running 60+ miles with @jeantakesm2b in the beginning was amazing. We had no idea our pace was around the same or how much we loved our girl talk lol. It make time fly by. Going to the night was tough I struggled a bit breathing but managed to control it. Everytime I made it back to the crew everyone helped motivate and keep me going. Mile 95 broke me a bit but a volunteer told me at 100 ill get cup of noodles. It helped, I carried on crying lol. When I got to 100 I was happy. It wasn't easy but the race wasn't over. Love to see @linaadlt still in it. Another strong female who made achieving F1 a challenge. We pushed each other. Until eventually it was me standing with the last 4. We all motivated each other in some way or another pushing passed the hurt and last year's course record and remained strong. Happy to last with all those savages lol. I made a few mistakes and found myself struggling to keep food in and a pace to last around lap 28 Decided I would give it my all for all the females and sprinted to finish my loop. Happy to make it with 3 minutes to spare. Thought if I did an easy pace I could recover from that sprint and stay in the game way longer. But everything became so much harder after.

It was a tough call to make but cut this journey when my knees felt off. That decision broke me. I never cried so hard after a race a mixed emotions of feeling so accomplished but also knowing I can do more. I met many goals and passed a distance I never dreamed of passing anytime soon. I am forever grateful for this experience , everyone who made it possible, and cheered me on. ❤️

Couldn't of gone this far without my crew @jeantakesm2b @lomonimonica @anthony_ajh @anthonygodinezgonzalez @zerekzman thanks for popping in and helping @roosters_backyard_ volunteers and community who kept me going. by @mee_mooch

Be proud to be there among the few that ever try yet daring to want more 💛

I've never had a smooth 100 and that's what I love. No matter how much you train and prepare there's so much more to learn about yourself and the mountain. There's so many battles, victories, and decisions that come in from making it to the start line and every step forward. Proud of us all.

Ive done many races and have seen many sides of me come out. For this race above all I wanted to be happy during this run and finish proud no matter what that looked like. My time goal did change and I kept pushing and adapting it and as crazy as it sounds having foot problems and in pain for about 50 miles. I'd say 70%of that run I was in bliss. Doing what I love 🥹 I did have a few low cranky moments at mile 95 ...kinda good I was alone out there lol.

But at Mile 101 when I finally got out of the trails onto the road I turned around and saw giant mountains behind me and cried. My little strong legs took me to the top away from the city into the peaks and back down in 100 degree weather. It was wasn't easy but a journey worth remembering 💛

To the girl that never saw her self here 💛

We are still showing everyone what's possible. 💜

The start of summer I questioned if I'd make it to this start line or even wanted to. It took huge amounts of efforts to start training and showing up everyday even when everything was chaotic. This was my way of putting time for myself, even when I felt guilty.

So many hours of sacrifice.
Showing up weekly and pushed. When my body was tired I listened. Had countless solo and group runs that I cherish 💕 My legs do have a lot more miles on them then first time I toed this line. I feel stronger.

But, Nervs and emotions are so high. From looking back how far we've come, and looking forward to tomorrow. Not sure how it will unfold, but proud and happy to be at that start line and give it another try. 100 miles💛 here we go again! by @mee_mooch

Medal monday and taper activities 💜

26k for me and seeing friends kick butt out there. I climbed the summit once and the triple crowers did it three times 🔥🔥🔥. Such a beautiful and intense course 🥹

This race has been on my list! Last year I was signed up, but it landed during a heavy training block. Felt like I would be too exhausted for this trip so I deferred it to this year.

With this race being one week away from ac 100 my main goal was do not trip/get injured and have fun. It put me in a whole different mindset since the start. I chilled my pace, recorded🤭, took a little detour, and made sure to turn around to enjoy the view more 💜 it brought so many good memories from when I used to snowboard in the winter.

Great weekend with friends now we rest up well and plan for the big one 💜 :)

Meet Andreina Chimal.

Seven years ago, running AC100 was only an idea. It became a dream, then a goal, and in 2025 Andreina made it a reality.

Smoke, heat, high elevation, stomach issues, and tight cutoffs tested her throughout the race. She kept moving and earned her first AC100 finish in 34:37:08.

Now the teacher and four-time 100-mile finisher returns for her second consecutive AC100. She has been preparing by recreating the terrain and elevation of the San Gabriels on her local trails.

We’ll see @mee_mooch back at the starting line on October 3.

What it takes to get here 💛

The days, weeks, months, years it's a process and a wild ride of pushing, testing, adapting.

Grateful for it and all the miles shared. 🙏

One month away from Angeles Crest 100. The journey itself is a win. 🌟
