Watching you quietly pursue this, believe in yourself, and own the stage filled my heart.

Many will think it was luck, but the truth is you worked your tush off for years. You put your ego aside to accept all the feedback and mentorship offered along the way. Not many can do that. But you did, all while remaining our loveable Mel.

So grateful and thankful to be part of the @citadeldental team.

Our queen @mel2thdoc took the main stage this week at DS world @dentsplysirona. Her talk was truly inspiring and transcended dentistry. The discussion was about confidence and she truly inspires me daily- not just professionally but personally.

To be a bad ass female like her is the confidence I want to embody!

We had so much fun with the team and this is a memory I will never forget! Thank you Dr. Mel for supporting your team and colleagues in such a beautiful and genuine way!

The last few days have been a whirlwind to say the very least.

When @dentsplysirona invited me to present a keynote talk on the main stage of #dsw2026 I was honoured, shocked (a lot shocked), and privileged.

I also felt like it was my duty to share my story too.

To be real, vulnerable, and authentic.

To inspire, motivate and lift up colleagues, wherever they are in their journey of this incredible profession.

To empower everyone who took the time to listen, and give them something they could put into practice Monday morning. (Get after it people…tomorrow is Monday!😂)

I truly want to thank everyone who listened. Everyone who took the time after to tell me my talk motivated or inspired them in some way. Because ultimately that was my goal from the start. 🫶🏻.

And again thank you…

To the people who taught me.

To the people who supported me.

To the people who challenged me.

To the people that encouraged me to say “yes” to opportunities I never imagined for myself

Because no one gets on that big stage alone.

I’m grateful, honoured and humbled.

So much thanks. Now you all go out there. Be better tomorrow than you were last week. And always know, I support you!

Today, with broken hearts but immense gratitude, we said goodbye to our beautiful girl, Macy.

Surrounded by love from her brothers Ridley and Nelson, and from Kevin and I, Macy passed peacefully at home with dignity, comfort, and so much love. We are deeply grateful to Guardian Pet Cremation and the compassionate team from at-Home Pet Euthanasia in Edmonton for helping give her such a beautiful, gentle passing.

We also want to sincerely thank Rod for taking such wonderful care of Macy while we were away in Italy. It gave us comfort knowing she was so loved and well looked after. Thank you to Auntie Dana, for her love, support and special visit while we were away. And to all who loved her like we did.

Macy lived life entirely on her own terms — spirited, brave, stubborn, funny, and endlessly loved. She left this world the same way she lived in it: with dignity, surrounded by her family.

Fifteen years could never have been enough.

Team bonding > everything 🤍

There’s something so important about stepping away from the clinic and just being people together.
Connection outside the office is what turns a team into something more!
So grateful for a team that feels more like friends than coworkers.
