Six months ago, Comrades felt like a massive, intimidating question mark. Today, I can tell you exactly what it took to get to that finish line.

This post isn’t about telling you to “just be consistent.” Everything I did took time & money, resources I do not take for granted and fully aware that not everyone is privileged enough to have. If you want to try but think you need everything I mentioned in my post, I’m here to tell you that most of those things are guidelines. You don’t need a gym membership, you can train at home. There are plenty of “real foods” that work just as well as gels and cost less. You don’t need a coach, you just need a program that you will stick to, there are free online programs available.

I’ve kept this story to myself for a long time, but recent events have reminded me why these conversations cannot stay private. Yes, it’s not all men, we get it. This also isn’t a race or class issue. Misogyny, intimidation and violence against women exist across communities, cultures and social circles. Men hear the way other men speak about women, they see behaviour that crosses the line. Some know men who are controlling, violent or abusive; and too often, nothing is said.

Sometimes men don’t call out other men because they’re afraid of them too. And that should tell us something. The men we fear aren’t some separate group living somewhere else. They are among us. And silence gives them somewhere to hide. by @mellospoke

I’ve trusted Dermalogica since high school, so when they launched the Future Code Booster, I knew I wanted to give it a permanent spot in my routine.
