What a full circle moment to get to come back to the college we met at and attended, and get to see Josiah preach at the chapel we once attended as students. 🤍 taken in Ozark Christian College by @melodyjavier_

Little late in posting this but this was my July incline. Honestly, one of the hardest inclines I’ve done, emotionally. I debated whether or not to go cause my dad had passed away just 2 weeks before, but I knew he would want me to keep to my goals. So I went. Felt very numb and raw as I hiked it, with tears in my eyes at moments. It’s not always easy showing up to the things that once were after experiencing someone you love so deeply passing away, but I know I also want to maintain healthy rhythms of exercise, and keep to my goals to remain healthy. This one was for you, dad. 159 times. by @melodyjavier_

Grief-the greater the love, the greater the grief. Feeling the weight of that statement in a way I never thought I would at this point in my life.

Grief-it hits you in ways you least expect it. Last week, I was watching a documentary and a random man playing piano popped up. Shiloh looked at him and said, “Granddad!” I lost it. It’s been a month since she last saw him, and her little 16 month old self still remembers that he would play piano with her. That’s one of the last photos I have of him on my phone-her playing piano in his lap. He loved playing piano, and Shiloh loved sitting in his lap, playing alongside him. My heart aches, knowing she won’t always have memories of him that pop into her head. My heart aches knowing that the future kids we may have, will never know him. My heart aches, knowing that a piece of it will always be missing. My heart aches knowing that the last pictures I have of my dad feel frozen in time, knowing that Shiloh and I just keep getting older and we no longer have the privilege of watching my dad grow older. It is a privilege to age alongside those you love, as we truly don’t know how much time we have left.

Grief-there is so much to process through during a season of grief. When my dad’s heart stopped, my world did too. by @melodyjavier_

Oh how I wish I could hug you again.

2 weeks ago, on July 17th, my dad passed away peacefully, but very unexpectedly, in his sleep. And 2 weeks ago a journey of grief started that I never thought I would be on at the age of 30. My dad was the best dad in the world, a man of faithfulness-truly faith marked his life in every sense of the word. He was faithful to Jesus, my mom, and my sisters and me to the very end. These have been some of the hardest days I’ve ever endured. Never thought I would be going to my dad’s funeral this past month. I am so grateful for the sweetest of friends, showing up for me in this unimaginable loss-every checkin, meal delivered, unexpected gifts, and prayer have carried me through and meant the world.

My dad’s legacy lives on through my family and generations to come. I am so grateful for the hope of heaven and being able to see him again someday. I had no idea my last moment with my dad would be my last moment, but we always hugged eachother and told eachother we loved each other, every single time we would say goodbye to one another. I have learned that we never truly know when our last moment may come, so hug your loved ones and never stop telling them that you love them, and live with intentionality. Thank you dad, for being my hero and inspiring me each and everyday. by @melodyjavier_

7 years of getting to love you and walk by your side. I am so grateful to get to do life with my best friend and make so many memories together. We live a life I once dreamed of and have the most beautiful daughter we get to raise together. It’s so crazy to be living in the days I dreamed of as a little girl-being a wife to an amazing man of God and the mom to a sweet baby. Happy 7 year anniversary to the man I love. 🤍 by @melodyjavier_

Yesterday was a dream come true. My sister asked me what I wanted for my 30th birthday, and I told her, a fun experience when I come visit her in DC. And then I jokingly added, “A tour of the White House.” Not thinking it would actually be possible because of how booked out they are. And then yesterday her and her husband surprised me with a tour of the WEST wing of the White House (invitation only tours with someone who works at the White House). To get to see The Oval Office, cabinet room, press room, etc was so incredible. Definitely an experience I’ll never forget. 🤍🇺🇸 taken in The White House by @melodyjavier_
