6.20.2026 🤍

On June 20th, I married the greatest guy I know in New York City, with one of my best friends officiating and so much love surrounding us. It was intimate, incredibly beautiful, and truly the happiest day ever.

After 7.5 years building @elemindtech , I’m excited to share the biggest milestone in our company’s history: Elemind has been acquired!

We’ll share more details at the right time, but this is a big win for Elemind and for neuromodulation technology.

My co-founder David Wang and I are moving to the Bay Area to join the acquiring company full-time and become part of their team. We’ve gotten to know the team well over the last few months, and we’re excited to work together in this next chapter where we’ll have the opportunity to put Elemind’s technology in front of vastly more people than before with the scale, resources and platform of a publicly traded company behind us. More to come.

We started Elemind on a belief that precisely timed stimulation could move the brain from one state to another, without drugs. We took that from the lab to market, shipping Elemind to 10k people, starting with sleep. Along the way we completed multiple clinical trials, published our research, earned customers like Nike & Google, & built a patent portfolio around the technology. What a journey!

If you own an Elemind headband, nothing changes for you today. Your device, app and membership will continue to work, and support is still here at support@elemindtech.com

This was a team effort, start to finish:
To the Elemind team: David Wang, Ed Boyden, Heather Read, Nir Grossman, Roshan Rajappa, Matt Workman, @jomckinney , Ryan Neely, Scott Bressler, Ryan Yost, Greg Burlingame, Tyler Gage, Dhushan, Anna, Justin, Susan McBride, Zoe Coady. You built something that didn’t exist before with a fraction of the resources most companies have.

A very special shoutout to @pankajkedia007, who is an n of 1. There is no better investor, advisor, or friend. You made me and Elemind infinitely better, and I am forever your champion.

To the people who fought beside me: Susan Paley, who helped through every battle; @kenhertz who has been with me through every company; @arielbganz who is just incredible; @benrolnik; Joe Cannon; Mark Kovacs. And to @drjcraigventer, who isn’t here to see this, and who I wish were.

To our investors, thank you for believing in us. by @meredithperry

“Noise cancellation for the brain” lands. “Electronic drugs” does not. Same product. Different feelings. That’s everything. by @meredithperry

Forget the lab, Elemind took sleep to the streets, on the High Line, at a Giants game, and even a random seat on a plane, because real moments convert better than any data point ever will. by @meredithperry

Elemind built a headband that cancels the brainwaves, keeping you awake. It is like noise cancellation for your mind, and the results speak for themselves. by @meredithperry

6 years ago today we lost my mom, Bedonna Weiss Perry.

It’s still unbelievable to me that she’s gone. I think about her every day and how she’d help me navigate all the life I’ve lived since she left. She was the warmest and wisest woman I knew and boy did I take it for granted. What I would give to have her back for even an afternoon.

Mom was a Harvard trained child psychologist with a PhD. But she’d never let you know it. She was so humble. She was funny. She was fun. She absolutely loved life and her attitude was always positive, but not in a toxic way. She really did just make life better. I honestly never knew a single person who didn’t like her.

She was so smart. She had an insane memory and could remember every name of anyone she’s ever met, song lyrics from decades ago.

She was so dedicated. When I started my first company, she read book after book on startups just so that she could converse with me about it. She’d drive me to meetings hours away on a weekly basis and stay with me in hotels just to keep me company. When I moved to LA, she’d fly out to visit me every few months.

She could talk about anything with anyone. She was so cool. She knew every baseball stat, everything going on in politics, and could talk intelligently about anything under the sun. She was incredibly inquisitive and asked lots of questions.

She really cared. She was fiercely loyal and loved her kids more than anything. And boy did she let us know it.

There’s so much more I could say about her, but it’s making me miss her too much.

I love you so much, mom. I’m still hanging out with grandpa. 97 and kicking! My wedding is in a few weeks and I know you’d kill to be there. I’m wearing your pearls and your veil. I’ll continue to carry you with me every day. Thank you for everything. by @meredithperry

I’m heartbroken to share that my friend Dr. J. Craig Venter passed away today.

Craig was a brilliant inventor, scientist, entrepreneur, and rabble rouser. He was the first to sequence the human genome, created the first synthetic life form, founded multiple billion-dollar companies, and at 79 had just launched another one three months ago.

I met Craig in 2013 and we stayed in each other’s lives ever since. He invested in both of my companies and was a close advisor. A few years ago he asked me to join the board of JCVI — an honor that gave us much more time together.

I’d bring him my wildest ideas in biology and he’d engage with them seriously — and then push them further.

He was an inspiration, a legend, and had an incredible sense of humor, especially for a scientist!I’m so sorry for the world that he’s gone — and so sorry for Heather, his family, and all the wonderful people at JCVI I’ve been lucky to know.

Here’s a conversation we had a couple of years ago about longevity and life: https://youtu.be/3H-lZXBmrM4?si=T1fCtvz_Rr12_SIm by @meredithperry

It’s always rewarding to see our work resonate.

Our CEO, @MeredithPerry, recently shared Elemind on @Pix11, helping more people understand how our technology can make a difference in their sleep.

If you’re someone who struggles to fall asleep, we’re here to help.
