You won’t be seeing me on stage anytime soon.

I’m pressing pause on competing. Not “never” — but right now, the excitement I once felt about stepping on stage just isn’t there anymore.

Over the years, bikini evolved into a look that no longer felt like me. When Fit Model was introduced, I saw a new possibility. But as that category has developed, I’ve realized I don’t fully see myself there either.

And to be clear — I have so much respect and admiration for the athletes in both divisions. Those physiques are incredible. They’re just not my physique goals.

I still love competing. I always will. But at this point, what I personally want to build for myself doesn’t align with what’s being rewarded on stage. And that’s okay. What wouldn’t be okay is continuing to chase a goal that no longer fits who I am outside of competition.

That realization comes with a lot of emotion. Competing was never my entire identity, but it has been a meaningful part of it for a long time. Letting go of that can feel uncomfortable. It can feel confusing. But it can also feel freeing.

Because when I got honest with myself about what I truly want right now, I realized the things lighting me up most aren’t stepping on stage. They’re watching my clients succeed, spending time with the people I love, and building a body that feels like mine — not one shaped around a scorecard.

So yes, I still adore the sport. I’ll still train hard, eat with intention, and live with the discipline competing taught me.

I’ll just be doing it for me now — not for the stage.

A new chapter. A new season. And I’m choosing to be excited for it.

Janna didn’t come into coaching needing motivation or discipline.
She came in tired of being in her head.

She knew what to do.
She just didn’t want to obsess over every detail, second-guess every decision, or feel like one busy week erased months of effort.
(Effort without direction is EXHAUSTING).

Her life wasn’t quiet.
It was changing - new job, travel, moving cities, rebuilding routines, managing digestion, sleep, hormones, and a nervous system that had been in survival mode for years.

So we didn’t ask her to “lock in.”
We built something that could absorb pressure.

A plan where:
• busy weeks didn’t mean starting over
• consistency didn’t require perfection
• effort actually translated into progress

That’s what capability looks like.

Not control.
Not obsession.
Not shrinking your life to chase results.

But learning how to lead your body inside the life you’re already living.

If you’ve been doing “enough” for a long time and still feel stuck -
it’s probably not you.

DM CAPABLE if you’re ready for results that hold through real life.

Becoming HER wasn’t easy.

There was a time when I doubted if I could ever feel confident in my skin, when my identity was tied to being “the bigger friend” or “the girl with an ED.” The way I spoke about myself, the limits I placed on my potential—it all kept me stuck.

But I refused to stay there.

I immersed myself in learning, challenged my own beliefs, and stepped into the identity of the person I wanted to become. I became her. And that journey—the struggles, the risks, the uncomfortable moments—is exactly why I coach the way I do today.

I don’t just help my clients transform their bodies. I help them shift their language, rewrite their stories, and embody the strongest version of themselves before they even realize it’s possible.

Because I know what it’s like to feel stuck.
And I know what it takes to become HER.
I did it.

And I want to help you do it too. 🤍

Root beer floats for breakfast because being an adult should come with SOME perks 🍦🤎

This one has protein, caffeine, and strong “why haven’t I done this sooner” energy.

The vanilla Creami base:
• 1 scoop @legion French Vanilla protein powder
• 1 cup almond milk
• 0.5g cellulose gum

Blend everything together, pour into your Creami pint, and freeze overnight. Spin until creamy, adding a splash of almond milk and re-spinning if needed.

Scoop into a glass, slowly pour over Ghost A&W Root Beer energy, and enjoy your AM root beer float 🫶🏼

Use code MIAPD at Legion when you grab your protein! taken in Austin, Texas by @mia.ferguson

Kooking with Kabocha is back, and this may be better than the Trader Joe’s Butternut Squash Mac 👀.

Kabocha makes the sauce thick and creamy, while sage, rosemary, and a little cinnamon give it that cozy fall flavor. And yes, there’s plenty of actual cheese in here.

Kabocha mac and cheese sauce:
• 510 g kabocha squash
• 300 g unsweetened almond milk
• 200 g Bettergoods cheddar, Gouda & Gruyère blend
• 84 g light Laughing Cow (4 wedges)
• 33 g Hoosier Hill Farm white cheddar powder
• 11 g nutritional yeast
• 0.5 g dried sage
• 0.4 g dried rosemary
• 0.4 g cinnamon
• 1g cracked black pepper
• 2g ginger
•44g bacon bits
• hot honey as desired
• 2 g MSG

Roast the kabocha until soft. Blend it with the almond milk, Laughing Cow, cheddar powder, nutritional yeast, and seasonings until smooth. Warm the sauce over low heat, then stir in the shredded cheese until melted. Toss with cooked pasta, adding a splash of pasta water if you want it looser. Salt to taste. Add bacon and hot honey on top of Mac.

This makes about 6 servings of sauce. I’d pair it with roughly 400-450g dry pasta for a saucy batch, but you can use as much as you like.

Save this for the next time you’re unwilling to deal with the TJs parking lot. 🙂‍↕️✨🍁 taken in Austin, Texas by @mia.ferguson

One of the best qualities I ever developed was learning how to figure it the fuck out.

I still get overwhelmed. I still ask questions. I still have moments where I genuinely have no idea what I’m doing.

But “I don’t know how” stopped being where I quit.

I can research it. Ask someone who knows more. Try, mess up, adjust, and try again.

That’s where so much of my confidence came from: giving myself evidence that I can handle something unfamiliar.

You don’t have to feel capable before you start. Sometimes you build that feeling by working through the thing you thought you couldn’t do.

Pick one thing you’ve been putting off because you don’t know how. Figure out the first step. Take it. taken in Austin, Texas by @mia.ferguson

Traveling during a fat loss phase can come with a few more challenges, but it doesn’t mean your goals have to go out the window.

A few coaches, a few different tips, and one big reminder…stay true to what YOU want.

And if you’re traveling with someone working toward a goal, don’t make it weird. Don’t pressure them to eat, drink or do something just because everyone else is.

Everyone’s on their own journey. Support them where they are. by @mia.ferguson
