And with that, the Milstein Summer at Cornell Tech 2026 has come to a close!

After spending 8 weeks in the bustling city of New York City and the beautiful Roosevelt Island, students presented their capstone projects at last night’s summer showcase. The cohort were presented with small swans in memory of their excursion to see Swan Lake at the Lincoln Center, and in return, the students presented their instructors with cards signed by everyone in the cohort.

A big thank you to Michael, Angie, Grant, Bil, Kara, Cristian, Julia, and everyone at Cornell Tech who made this summer the absolute best it could be. We’ll miss you! by @milsteinprogram

“At an institution that emphasizes career planning and employability, the Milstein program allows for intellectual exploration and space to explore curiosities beyond our major.” - Noori Nagra ‘29

The Milstein Program models collaboration, both between disciplines and between the campuses of Cornell Tech and Cornell in Ithaca. Today the Milstein Summer Program had a special visitor, Dean Peter Loewen, who serves as Harold Tanner Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences and Professor of Government. In a casual sit-down lunch with students and faculty director Roger Moseley, Dean Loewen asked students about the best things they have experienced so far as part of Milstein, about what they would bring back to Ithaca, and their feelings about pressing topics like generative AI in the classroom and in industry. The Milstein students were eager to share their experiences and ideas for how to foster similar collaboration and small, cohort-building experiences on the Ithaca campus more broadly. by @milsteinprogram

We are officially halfway through the summer! So….what have Milsteiners been up to?

The answer is: everything!
From 3D printing in the MakerLab and designing capstone projects to exploring New York City, the Milstein cohort has had a busy few weeks.

Some highlights: completing escape rooms in record-breaking time (kind of), seeing “Swan Lake” at the Metropolitan Opera House, enjoying meals together, and celebrating many Milstein birthdays!

Stay tuned for the rest of the summer! taken in New York City by @milsteinprogram

Milstein Sculpture Skill Session! 🎨

Students enjoyed a private guided tour of ceramic works from the Johnson Museum’s collection, drawing inspiration from the pieces on display. They then brought that inspiration into the studio, learning how to sculpt their own clay artwork to take home. It was an exciting and creative experience! by @milsteinprogram

Keyboard Energies — Alternating Currents at the Tata Innovation Center, Cornell Tech.

This concert marked the beginning of CLAVIS, a new collective founded by Federico Ercoli, Patricia García Gil, and Roger Moseley. Bringing together historical keyboards, electric instruments, synthesizers, and new expressive controllers, the performance traced a remarkable continuum of sound across centuries.
It was inspiring to witness such curiosity, experimentation, and collaboration on stage—where Renaissance counterpoint, classical repertoire, and electronic sound worlds met through the shared interface of the keyboard.
A huge thank you to the performers, collaborators, technicians, and everyone who joined us and stayed afterward to explore the instruments.

The energy in the room made it clear: this is only the beginning for CLAVIS. 🎹⚡ by @milsteinprogram

Keyboard Energies at @cornell_tech! Three Milstein students made the trip down to Roosevelt Island in NYC to meet up with faculty director Roger Moseley and colleagues from @musicatcornell / @historicalkeyboards for the third installment of this genre-bending concert, Keyboard Energies.

From clavichord to synthesizer, Keyboard Energies brings together keyboard instruments designed over the last half-millennium to explore sonic possibilities that are at once old and new. taken in Tata Innovation Center at Cornell Tech by @milsteinprogram
