POSTS STORIES REELS

I opened a Money Saving Expert email.

6 topics in the subject line.

24 links before I'd even clicked through to the website.

Nearly 1,900 words to read 🙈

So most people shelve it and never come back.

This is why I use habit stacking with clients - for money, not morning routines.

Start with one thing. Once it's automatic, stack the next on top. Before long, one small thing is a whole system, no overwhelm.

Comment "STACK" and I'll send you how to start.

Happy weekend!

Do you feel like you have to make endless decisions every. Single. Day?

You're not alone.

We are all flooded with hundreds of small - often unimportant - decisions.

This leads to overwhelm and the decisions that are actually important being put off.

I see this all the time when people think about their money.

Here's some things you can try:

+Try to remove as many smaller decisions as possible.

+If something works, keep doing it! Don't let your 🧠 tell you that you need to try something else.

+Actively try to keep your investments SIMPLE.

Even 10 minutes a week = a huge amount of time and energy saved over time.

What have you simplified in your life?
I'm interested - particularly in the most random ones! by @mindfuljai

Does anyone remember HMV? You can still find a few shops around.

Leave most things long enough and they're cyclical. Out of favour today. Back in favour eventually. Most investments follow the same shape.

If you're neurodivergent, this bit's for you specifically:

The pull to invest in what's hot right now is strong. New, fast, urgent - a lot of our brains are wired to chase that.

But "boring" or "out of favour" isn't the same as "wrong." Sometimes it's just early. Or late, depending which way you're looking.

I don't have any tips for you today.

Not because I've run out. Because you don't need more.

The average person now has more access to knowledge, insight and advice than ever before. That's not where we're falling short.

What we're short on is systems.

Systems put things in place for you. They keep you consistent - even on the days consistency isn't your strong suit. That's what turns a plan into something you actually do.

Simple message today: stop collecting tips. Build one system.

Check for 🍩 residue. Arguably more important than my point about consistency. by @mindfuljai

Let's please normalise saying no.

We are being asked for more and more things. Documents. Identification. Verification. Reverification.

Of course, some of this is legitimate.

However, there are so many things which are disproportionately asked for.

When you say no, you are not only sending a message, you are releasing your obligation from doing the thing.

The thing which adds up into alot of overwhelm.

This = actual priorities are pushed to the bottom of the list.

Which delays action.

Which in turn delays results.

Something I wish we talked about more.

Clients say, "tried that before, didn't work.
" I've said it myself.

But look back properly.
Maybe it needed longer.
Wrong timing. Wrong problem.

"Didn't work" becomes "never works."

Doing nothing starts to feel safe.
It isn't. Standing still while things move on is still a risk.

Just a quiet one.

Ask yourself: did it fail, or did you stop too soon? by @mindfuljai

The problem with fuzzy messaging is it can easily confuse people.

Case in point, the sign at my gym:

"Please refrain from drinking straight out of the water fountain if you don't have a bottle to fill up."

Technically, I did exactly what it said.

Happy Friday. by @mindfuljai

Let's talk about inflation. Not sexy, but important. ⬆️⬆️

Particularly over the long term.

Here's why:

A small amount, two or three percent, is normal. It keeps money moving through the economy.

The problem starts when it runs ahead of wages, and pay doesn't rise to match it.

You see it in small rises on the weekly shop, a few pence here and there. 🍠🥬🍯

But that's not a few pence. It's 10-20%+ on that item.

Over time, what's left over shrinks.

And if you've managed to save anything, sitting in a "safe" savings account, it won't be worth what it is today.

That changes the number you actually need to live - and ultimately retire - comfortably.

For a lot of people, that means struggling in retirement or working an extra year. Or two. Or five.
Big changes.

Investing isn't a guarantee. Nothing is.

But it gives your money its best chance of keeping pace with rising prices, rather than quietly losing ground every year it sits still.

Employee benefits

Here is the multi-layered problem...

Money worries don't stay at home. They can't be compartmentalised.

92% of employees felt financial stress last year

Over 48% say it pulls their focus at work
Yet fewer than 6% of employers offer basic support

Why the massive gap?

Overwhelm - HR leaders are flooded with fragmented vendor options and remain unsure which specific benefits will actually move the needle for their workforce.

Fear - 54% of employers hesitate to launch financial initiatives out of fear of legal liability or miss-stepping into regulated financial advice.

Capacity - People are busy. The resources required to vet, implement, and administer new benefit packages can be vast.

The fix?
What if someone could take all of these worries and provide a clear, independent way forward?

Are you an employer or an employee interested in improving your employee benefits?

He was getting in his own way.

Not lazy. Not careless. Just busy, always busy, in a way that meant he never had to sit still with his own money.

£1 million sitting in his business. Untouched for years.

Not because he didn't care. Because looking felt too big.
We started small. Looked at his past first, not his numbers.

What he'd avoided, and why.
Six months on: a plan in place, and a business owner who finally isn't in his own way.

If any of this sounds familiar, you're not alone.

It's not a "you" problem.
