For generations, Scotland’s national spirit was wrapped in ceremony: leather armchairs, serious expressions, dusty bottles and the assumption that you needed to know your Islay from your Speyside before you were allowed to join the conversation.

Thankfully, things have changed. Whisky Week 2026 is taking the celebration into the places where whisky arguably belongs most: city bars, independent bottle shops, neighbourhood pubs and the unexpected corners of Aberdeen, Glasgow and Edinburgh.

More than 50 venues, hundreds of drams, new producers alongside some of Scotland’s most storied names, and, perhaps most importantly, the freedom to discover it all without taking whisky too seriously.

Sometimes the best way to understand a city is to sit at its bar, order something you’ve never tried before and see where the conversation takes you.

Eden Mill Launches Limited-Edition Summer in St Andrews Gin

Eden Mill has unveiled Summer in St Andrews, a limited-edition gin inspired by sunny days on the Fife coast.

Bottled at 40% ABV, the gin combines raspberries and strawberries from Tarvit Farm in Cupar with rhubarb and lemon. It is designed to be served with tonic and a lemon wheel, or mixed with soda, prosecco and lemon for a refreshing summer spritz.

Only 500 bottles have been produced, priced at £32 for 70cl and available from the Eden Mill distillery shop, online and through selected retailers.

The launch will also be celebrated throughout August with a Summer Gin Afternoon Tea at the distillery. Priced at £35 per person, the experience includes cakes and preserves inspired by the gin’s flavours, alongside a signature Bramble cocktail served tableside from a teapot.
