Can’t believe it’s the end of September already 🥹 In the whirlwind and craziness that has been 2026, I’m extra grateful for the people who keep me grounded and remind me why I do what I do, and why life is so worth living. My husband who’s my constant through it all, the best pup who brings so much joy into our lives, a business partner who’s been by my side through all the madness, and the little community of pawrent friends we somehow found along the way ❤️ So much has changed this year, but somewhere in all the chaos, I’ve found even more reasons to be grateful. Some days I just look around and think, how did I get this lucky? Luna's first time at the beach, all salt and sand and pure joy. A stranger kind enough to catch it, and these two for being my whole world. Watching Luna meet something this big for the first time, fearless, delighted, completely herself, I realised I've started seeing the world a little more like she does. I cut my hair today. To most people, it's just hair. To me, it felt like the final chapter of a season I've been quietly leaving behind. The last three years have asked more of me than I thought I had to give. There were moments I questioned myself, my vision, my leadership, and whether I still had the energy to keep building what I had started. In that time, I held on tightly to many things—people, partnerships, responsibilities, expectations, identities. Some were meant to stay. Some were not. This year has been a season of profound change. I rebranded the company. I moved into a new home for the business. I brought in a partner who shares the vision and is helping me build something bigger than I could have built alone. We welcomed new team members, said goodbye to others, and slowly began creating a culture that feels more aligned with where we're headed. The studio has always been my baby. For a long time, it felt like unstable ground. Through everything I've experienced, I've become far more intentional about who I build with. Every person on our team today was chosen not just for their skill, but for their alignment with the vision and future we're creating together. Distance has a way of bringing clarity. I've come to realise that not everything that leaves creates emptiness. Sometimes it creates space. Space for better ideas. Better people. Better opportunities. Space to grow into the version of yourself that couldn't exist while carrying the weight of what no longer belonged. The hair on the floor reminded me of that. Growth isn't always about adding more. Sometimes it's about having the courage to release what has become too heavy to carry. Today feels lighter. And for the first time in a long time, I'm not looking back. For years, I thought success was about finding the right strategy. Better marketing. Better advertising. Better schedules. Better systems. Those things matter. But what I've learned is that people can feel who you are long before they understand what you do. They can feel your intentions, your leadership, your energy. The screenshots in this reel aren't what I'm most proud of. What I'm most proud of is the community that chose to trust us, grow with us, and build this space together. Maybe energy matters more than we think... And eventually, the numbers tell the story. People think running a business is a bed of roses. 7 years and counting, and I’m still figuring things out every single day. Today, I finished class at 2pm and told myself I’d do some work and leave by 4pm before rush hour started. At 10.30pm, I was still standing in the studio with @tiffanydahlan, oiling toilet door hinges and fixing toilet locks. We walked into our respective houses at 12am… me with a very exhausted puppy. Tiffany started her day at 7am. I started mine at 9am. Tomorrow, Tiffany starts again at 8am, and I start at 9.30am. People see the classes, the branding, the “dream”, the pretty studio. They don’t see the exhaustion, the mental load, the constant problem solving, the cleaning, fixing, carrying, worrying, sacrificing. They don’t see that when cashflow is good, founders often pay themselves a fraction of what everyone else takes home. And when cashflow isn’t good, we take home $0… yet still show up every single day to make sure everything continues running. My plans to start a family have been taking the backseat for the past 5 years because there was always something more urgent, more important, more demanding that needed me first. Somewhere in the middle of all that, Luna was KO-ed in her @tippytappy.co carrier while I tried to keep the studio running. Bringing her to work is the only way I get to spend time with her these days. Unless you’ve been in these shoes, you’ll never fully understand what it takes to be a business owner/founder.
