I’m excited to bring Collective Poetry, Collective Care to the 2026 Imagining America Gathering in Davis, CA, on Sunday, October 25!

What happens when we stop thinking about care as an individual responsibility and begin imagining it as something we create together?

Through collective poetry and performance, we’ll explore the space between the care we hope for and the care we practice, asking how our words, stories, and creative communities can help us build more caring worlds.

Because poetry isn’t just about what we hope for. It’s about what we choose to create together.

Another beautiful day in the arts.🎭

Happy to have received the Arizona Arts Service Award for Student Services for 2025-2026 due to my time as the Recruiter for the College of Fine Arts. Very grateful for my students, my supervisor, and my nominators who made this happen. Very grateful I get to work with so many people supporting student success across the board.

“we can create spaces of acceptable risk. We can reflect upon our work and the ways in which we approach it; we can identify the risks inherent in a space or process, and we can inform participants of these risks. Clearly acknowledge them and accept that what is perceived as risky or potentially traumatizing to one person may not be seen that way by all other participants. Trauma is subjective, and therefore, which risks are acceptable is also subjective. All we can do is communicate the risks, encourage one another to make the decision about whether these risks are acceptable or not for ourselves, and support each individual’s decision without imposing repercussions or shame for having different boundaries than our own.” by @mixi.creative

We have to rethink how we go into rehearsal processes. It requires intention, planning, and a shared goal of growth in the process to inform a better product.

We have many stories of trauma and neglect in production processes. But— who made it that way, and why do we continue it? by @mixi.creative

As a director, it also is your job to get the room excited, ready, and prepared for rehearsals. I truly believe in getting there early so I can vibe check the space and leave time for checking in with others. by @mixi.creative
