The future has a way of arriving before we’re ready for it.

One decision. One secret. One conversation that quietly changes everything.

In this scene from Runaway, Jordan finds himself standing between two futures. As Emma prepares to leave for Columbia University, he’s carrying a truth he hasn’t found the courage to share. A choice that could redefine not only his own path, but the people closest to him.

Featuring performances by Edward Tesfaye Varela, AJ Araiza, and Preston Campbell, this scene captures the friendship at the heart of Runaway. Their chemistry brought a genuine warmth to these moments, making what comes after all the more meaningful.

More from Runaway soon.

Every love story has a moment when forever starts to feel fragile.

From the mind of Edward Tesfaye Varela comes RUNAWAY, an intimate new drama about young love at its most beautiful, most vulnerable, and most uncertain.

This teaser offers the first glimpse into Jordan and Emma’s world: the laughter, the closeness, the memories they built together, and the unraveling tension waiting beneath it all.

Because sometimes love is not about whether two people care enough.

Sometimes it is about what happens when life finally asks them to prove it.

Starring Edward Tesfaye Varela & Justine Wilken

The end is near.

This summer, the story begins.

And it ends.

Over the next few weeks, we’ll be sharing pieces of what we’ve been building — moments, fragments, and the road toward something special.

Happy Pride Month! 🌈
Did you know it’s our birthday, too?

Two years ago today, All Queer Shakespeare launched as the world’s first all-LGBTQ Shakespearean theatre company. Since then we’ve sold out shows, built lasting collaborations, welcomed thousands of audience members, witnessed proposals, celebrated queer artistry, and created a community beyond anything we imagined. If you have been part of that in any capacity in the last 2 years, we thank you!

What’s your favorite AQS memory? Share it below and help us celebrate two incredible years. 💜🎭🏳️‍🌈

I love getting tags and texts from people with my book!

Whether you are seeing it in a bookstore (this one was at the Drama Bookshop in NYC, found by my friend Kim), in your hands or on your virtual shelf, or part of your spring break reading list, please send me a photo or tag me in one!

And if you have any quotes I can use about the book, will you please send those my way? I will be at the American Dance Guild Book Fair in NYC on Sunday, 3/29 and would love to use your words at my table display! If you’re in NYC, stop in- it’s free! The fair, not my book.

Thank you all for your support and for letting this book spend 2 months in the top 10 of Dance books in Amazon!

Do you want a copy of the book?
See me at the book fair, go to Amazon, or use the link 🔗 in my bio for the Routledge site and use the code 25ESA4 between now and 3/31/26!
