Feels very surreal to actually hold the writings that I did about being Filipino-American and how that plays into consent culture! Talking about Kapwa, Collective Healing, and Healing-Centered Practices made this dream into a reality— plus my first Google Scholar!

Today is my official last day as a Recruiter for the College of Fine Arts.

As I reflect back on my experience, I find myself so grateful for the best student success team here at UA. This was the best team to ever do it, folks.

Thankful for the students that have shaped this journey.

Thankful for the staff that I’ve met that are usually behind the curtains making it all happen.

Thankful for the academic advisors that have poured into me.

Thankful to all of the College Admissions Teams that have sat in the chaos with me.

I have accepted a full-time position as an Assistant Professor of Practice at the University of Arizona starting Fall 2026.

I’ll be teaching General Education Theatre Courses, Acting, Intimacy Direction, and a slurry of courses in addition to coordinating the JustArts Fellowship and assisting with the new YouthArts initiative!

This is truly surreal and a dream position. A mentor once told me that becoming a professor is challenging, and to never get my hopes up… but continue doing good work… YOUR work. No matter what, allow the work to be good and meaningful to you, and if the timing is right, it will all come together. Very happy to say that they did with the School of Theatre, Film & TV.

There are not enough words to speak how grateful I am for everyone that has helped me get to this point. Recruitment and Admissions is always a part of me and my practice, but now it’s time to move to the next beautiful chapter and look back in fondness… literally from the building next door.

My wife, my family, my friends, and of course my students— you all are always in every lesson I teach.
