3 simple editing tips that instantly make your Reels better 👇

You don’t need expensive equipment or years of editing experience to create better content. Sometimes it’s the small details that make the biggest difference.

✅ Use a clear title hook in the first few seconds so people immediately know what your video is about.

✅ Add captions. A huge percentage of people watch with the sound off, and captions keep them engaged.

✅ Turn on Instagram’s safe zone guides so your text doesn’t get hidden behind buttons or get cut off.

These three changes take just a few minutes, but they can make your content look far more professional and help keep people watching longer.

Some of the greatest wealth in South Africa isn’t found in our mines or our cities it’s found in the skills that are passed from one generation to the next.

At Imla Empower in Clocolan, every handmade mat begins with sheep’s wool. One woman spins the wool. Another dyes it. Another weaves it. Each person plays a part, creating not only beautiful products, but sustainable livelihoods.

What touched me most was seeing these same skills being taught to children. Because when you teach a child a skill, you’re not just preserving a tradition you’re creating opportunity, dignity, and hope for the future.

This is what real empowerment looks like. Not a handout, but a hand up. A community choosing to invest in people by ensuring that valuable knowledge is never lost.

May we never underestimate the power of passing on what we know. Sometimes the greatest legacy we can leave behind isn’t money it’s a skill.

🇿🇦 Here’s to the South Africans quietly building a better future, one generation at a time. by @mk_mnisi

Lately, I’ve found myself working with more and more organisations that are doing incredible work in our communities and I don’t think that’s by accident.

Empowering people and creating opportunities has always been something very close to my heart.

Spending time with Gloria Arendz-Theiler, Mrs Gaynor Rupert and her mother reminded me again that real change takes all of us. It takes people on the ground doing the work, but it also takes people with influence, resources and access who are willing to open doors and use what they have to help others.

Mrs Rupert founded the Imibala Trust, an organisation that has spent more than two decades creating opportunities for children through education, school support, creative programmes and skills development.

And perhaps that is why I’m so grateful for the spaces I find myself in lately.

I believe God puts us in certain rooms for a reason. Not simply so that we can say we were there, but so that we can listen, learn, connect people and hopefully use our own gifts to make a difference.

For me, being in rooms like these is a privilege but also a responsibility.

“To whom much is given, much will be required.” Luke 12:48

May we always use what we have, wherever God places us, to help someone else move forward. 🙏🏾 by @mk_mnisi

Such a pleasure meeting the founder of Yaga ! 🤍

During our conversation, I asked her an interesting question: Why not build a personal brand alongside the business you’re already building?

What followed was a lovely, honest conversation about visibility, putting yourself out there and the opportunities that might come from sharing more of the person behind the business.

And I loved her response! Sometimes all it takes is one conversation to make us consider something we hadn’t thought about before.

Excited to see where her journey takes her!

What do you think? Should founders be more visible on social media, or is it perfectly fine to stay behind the brand? 👇 by @mk_mnisi

We challenged the team to recreate a Springbok rugby player’s iconic dance moves, and let’s just say we have different levels of talent outside of marketing! 🇿🇦🏉😂

Who do you think nailed the dance best? 👀 by @mk_mnisi

One camera. One Godox light. And a whole lot of creativity! 🎥🔥

Today we’re putting the Sony ZV-E10 to work, filming a VSL (Video Sales Letter).

For such a compact camera, this thing is seriously impressive! The autofocus is quick, the quality is crisp, and paired with good lighting, the results are amazing.

One thing I’ve learned from creating content is that you don’t need a massive studio or the most expensive equipment to produce professional videos.

It’s all about knowing how to use what you have.

And remember, a beautiful video might grab attention, but a GREAT message is what gets people to take action.

Content creators, I’m curious 👀

Are you filming with your phone or have you invested in a camera? Let me know below! 👇 by @mk_mnisi

Sometimes all you need is someone patient enough to sit with you and show you again. ❤️

That’s exactly what MK did.

She came in feeling unsure, worried about getting the little things wrong and not confident with the technology.

MK took her through it step by step, backwards and forwards, until everything made sense.

No judgement. No rushing. Just practical, hands on help.

Her words: “He takes your hand and leads you along the way.”

That is what we want our in person workshops to feel like.

You don’t have to figure social media out alone. You just need the right support. 🙌 by @mk_mnisi

People think you need expensive gear for cinematic shots… you don't.
One Godox. One softbox. One grid. That's it.
Here's the BTS of turning a simple lighting setup into a clean, cinematic look. The magic isn't in more lights it's in how you use them. 🎬✨ by @mk_mnisi

When your Creative Director knows you a little TOO well 😂🎁

The last time MK and I filmed at Checkers, apparently I touched this toy one too many times… so naturally, she decided I needed it for my birthday. 😂

But also… THIS is exactly what I’ve been talking about with Checkers.

They take real life marketing moments, turn them into characters, toys and collectables and suddenly the brand becomes part of your everyday life.

And now apparently part of my office decor too. 😂

Did MK nail the birthday gift? YES or NO? by @mk_mnisi
