What a week! 🤍 Some weeks remind me exactly why I love what I do! Monday started with a very special celebration as Gloria Arendz-Theiler was honoured as a Styl Legende at the Bravo! Revlon Styl-ikoon awards. What a privilege to celebrate someone who has contributed so much to South African fashion over almost five decades! Tuesday was all about business, brilliant ideas and interesting people! I got to meet Aune Aunapuu, the founder of Yaga (and you know how much I love Yaga! 😂), enjoyed some wonderful conversations at Innovation City and spent time with my lovely friend Annelize from A Look and Feel. Different people, different industries, but one thing in common: people who are passionate about what they do. I came home with a camera roll full of photos, a head full of ideas and a reminder that some of the best parts of business are the people you meet along the way. And really, shouldn’t work be this much fun? ❤️

Sometimes all you need is someone patient enough to sit with you and show you again. ❤️ That’s exactly what MK did. She came in feeling unsure, worried about getting the little things wrong and not confident with the technology. MK took her through it step by step, backwards and forwards, until everything made sense. No judgement. No rushing. Just practical, hands on help. Her words: “He takes your hand and leads you along the way.” That is what we want our in person workshops to feel like. You don’t have to figure social media out alone. You just need the right support. 🙌

People think you need expensive gear for cinematic shots… you don't. One Godox. One softbox. One grid. That's it. Here's the BTS of turning a simple lighting setup into a clean, cinematic look. The magic isn't in more lights it's in how you use them. 🎬✨

When your Creative Director knows you a little TOO well 😂🎁 The last time MK and I filmed at Checkers, apparently I touched this toy one too many times… so naturally, she decided I needed it for my birthday. 😂 But also… THIS is exactly what I’ve been talking about with Checkers. They take real life marketing moments, turn them into characters, toys and collectables and suddenly the brand becomes part of your everyday life. And now apparently part of my office decor too. 😂 Did MK nail the birthday gift? YES or NO?

Can we talk about how freeing this is? 🎨 You don’t need the most expensive paint, brushes or tools to create something beautiful. Sometimes it’s literally craft paint, a plastic fork and an idea. “It’s what you do with it that counts.” And apparently… sometimes what you do with it is worth R80,000 😂 Would you pay R80,000 for a piece of art?

Sometimes the biggest battle is simply refusing to give up. believe in yourself, keep going, and if one door closes, knock on the next one. You don’t have to accept belittlement or humiliation from anyone who makes you feel that you’re not good enough. Trust yourself, have courage in your conviction. Hard work and good moral values is what creates success. That is what being Unbroken means. ❤️

Come hike Spitzkop with us 🥾⛰️ It might look like a small mountain from the bottom but trust me, your heartbeat will tell you otherwise. And once you reach the top, it’s worth every step. On a clear day, you can see all the way to the Maluti Mountains of Lesotho sometimes even covered in snow. There’s even a beautiful open space at the top for a morning stretch, meditation, team building or a small private function. Another little piece of magic waiting for you at Imla. Would you hike Spitzkop with us?
