What if we could test-drive the future before it arrives? 🚀✨ Science fiction and the arts do more than imagine technologies that do not yet exist. They create fictional worlds in which emerging technologies can be explored, questioned and experienced before they become part of everyday life.

This lecture looks at how artistic and fictional practices shape our ideas of technological futures, and how they can open up alternative ways of thinking about which futures are possible, desirable or worth pursuing.

Join us and imagine what’s next! 💛💜

Who gets to shape an exhibition? 🏳️‍🌈✨ The exhibition as a medium, with its traditional division of roles between audience and exhibition-makers, is being unsettled by post-digital technologies. Digital cultures have given rise to new forms of participation that shift the position of the audience and open up spaces for queer perspectives.

Drawing on selected examples, Ben Egger traces contemporary exhibition formats and explores their collaborative, transformative and resistant potentials.

Where does the digital end and the physical begin? 🌀✨ Sarah Oh-Mock’s cross-media practice combines digital media with sculptural installations, works on paper and performative elements. The interplay of digital and analogue modes of production gives rise to hybrid, speculative spaces of experience.

At the core of her work are questions about the construction of reality and cultural perception, and the transitions between nature and artificiality, body and technology, reality and fiction.

organized by Daniel Hengst (mkv) and Theresa Schubert (mkv), with Regine Rapp
moderated by Marcus Boxler (mkv)

How can artistic practices reshape our relationships with technology, materiality and more-than-human environments? 🌱🔬 Artists and mkv members Theresa Schubert and Daniel Hengst, together with art historian Regine Rapp (ArtLaboratory Berlin), explore ecological approaches that challenge established ideas of control, efficiency and human agency.

Here, art is not simply a representation of ecological crises, but an experimental field for developing new forms of coexistence, interdependence and ecological imagination. Regine Rapp expands these perspectives in her lecture „Situated Ecologies: Hybrid Art and the More-than-Human“.

Come think with us about living systems and new ways of being together! 💛💜

by Andreas Greiner

When a machine makes a discovery, who made it? 🤖🧬 Companies increasingly report scientific breakthroughs achieved by their AI systems, from new enzymes to mathematical proofs. Yet on closer inspection, authorship becomes blurred.

In his keynote, artist Andreas Greiner asks what remains of the concept of genius when authorship is distributed across human, artificial and non-human intelligence.

What stories do discarded screens tell? 🖥️✨ Since 2022, visual artist Yvon Chabrowski has been working with damaged monitors found in Berlin’s urban space. In performances with these devices, she develops the moving-image sculpture „glitched surfaces | mapping resources“, using her performative practice to investigate materials, sites of accumulation and resources.

In her feature, she invites us to take a critical look at image production and the structures behind it, starting right here, from the local context.

What happens when a building becomes a screen? 🏙️✨ In her presentation, Liudmila Siewerski explores projection mapping, media scenography and new media art as practices situated between image, architecture and public space.

She presents her talk „Who Owns the Facade?“ alongside selected projection mapping projects that engage with cultural memory, urban archives and historical traces. Through these works, she investigates how new media technologies can reactivate architectural surfaces, reshape our perception and create temporary spatial interventions in the city.
