Brilliant mum-and-daughter hiking weekend in Tenerife 🥾💛

Don’t be fooled by “winter sun” if you’re heading north and going high — we had four seasons in one day 🌞❄️💨💦

Hats, gloves, sunglasses, sun hat… all on/off repeatedly 😅

Day 1: Montaña Guajara (2718m). That moment where you realise you’re a bit breathless because you’ve started way too fast 🙈😂 The volcanic scenery and views of Mount Teide were incredible 😍

Day 2: more unpredictable weather, so a lower route from Santiago del Teide up to about 1200m — low cloud, rain, and still a brilliant hike 😄

We loved it. Perfect weekend away (even if windy mountain roads caused a few “lively” moments 😉💞)

Challenging, chaotic… and brilliant.

The sights, the crowds, the music, the sheer madness of it all—what an experience.

Not the day I had planned, but that’s marathon running… you never quite know what the day will bring.

Feeling pretty broken today 😅 but very proud to have got it done.

Couldn’t have done it without my amazing Winchester support crew ❤️🙏

Why do I keep doing these things? 🤔

Another slightly bonkers challenge at the weekend — 50K this time! — and it got me thinking about why I keep signing up for them.

I think I simply like having something that’s mine.

Running, hiking, mountains, adventures with friends — and occasionally something in the diary that scares me just enough to wonder if I can actually do it.

I’m not particularly fast. I’m generally somewhere happily in the middle! But I like challenging myself (and running definitely uncovered a competitive streak I didn’t know I had 😂).

Life gets busy as we get older. Work, family, kids heading out into the world, sleep, hormones, stress… there’s a lot to juggle.

For me, staying active and having interests of my own helps me navigate it. But I’m also learning that being strong isn’t always about pushing harder. Food, sleep, recovery and knowing when to ease off matter too.

And perhaps that’s why I love what we do at @invigor.life — women navigating this stage of life together, getting physically and mentally stronger for whatever we want the years ahead to contain.

As our kids head off on adventures of their own, maybe it’s our turn too. ❤️

Not necessarily faster. Not necessarily further.
Just strong enough to keep saying YES.

Well… that was a long way 🤣

Run to the Sea 50K — starting at Moors Valley Country Park and taking a rather circuitous 50K route all the way to Hengistbury Head 🌊

A few pics from the day… which seem to show an awful lot of eating on my part 🤣 Turns out 50K requires quite a lot of snacks!

Such a fabulous route. I wasn’t entirely sure how I’d feel about it being so flat, but actually it meant we could stick to our plan — 8 mins running, 2 mins walking — for the entire 50K 🙌 And it worked!

Brilliant checkpoints, plenty of food and lots of lovely support along the way.

Most of all, @nicolaholmes5719 and I are feeling massively proud of ourselves. We had a plan, stuck to it, kept moving, kept eating 😂 and made it to the sea.

Another brilliant weekend adventure! 🇸🇰🥾⛰️

Just back from hiking in the High Tatras in Slovakia with a fabulous bunch of friends I know through @invigor.life. We joined a bigger @muchbetteradventures group — a really fun mix of ages, men and women, and lovely to meet more like-minded people who are up for an adventure!

We managed to squeeze in a morning exploring Krakow on bikes (loved it ❤️), before heading into Slovakia and the mountains.

The weather definitely changeable … torrential rain on day one so a quick change of plan — caves in the morning (dry but FREEZING 🥶), followed by a very wet waterfall hike and all of us attempting to dry boots and waterproofs in the sauna afterwards 😂

But the highlight had to be our hike up to Velká Svišťovka at just over 2,000m. Incredible views, beautiful mountains and a slightly challenging chain section on the way down 😳 — just the right amount of adventure!

A final hike yesterday, back to Krakow, then just enough time for supper and a beer before flying home.

In the door at 1am this morning and straight back to work today 😴😂… but SO worth it.

Great friends, new friends, brilliant guides, lots of laughs, beautiful mountains and a little bit of challenge. Such a good way to spend a long weekend ❤️

Definitely ready for the next one… 😉

Well… this is happening! 😃🚐

This empty VW Crafter is becoming our new campervan!

We’ve loved our T6 and all the adventures it’s taken us on, (swipe to see the pics!) but Stu and I have been thinking about the next few years: more travel, more time outdoors, longer trips and, for me, finding ways to take my work with me.

So we’ve taken the plunge! 😬

Our Crafter is with @vanworx, being transformed into something rather special. It’ll give us more space, longer trips and the ability to go properly off-grid — plus, importantly, a loo and shower! 😂 — while still feeling like a campervan rather than a motorhome.

There’s something exciting about planning this next stage of life. The kids are growing up, work can start to look different and we’re definitely not ready to slow down. We want to keep hiking, running, skiing, surfing, kayaking, exploring and saying yes to adventures.

I’m also thinking more about how this could shape my work: strength training that helps us keep doing the things we love, and coaching wherever we happen to be.

For now, though, there’s a lot to do with this empty shell! 😂

The van’s next stop is the Motorhome & Caravan Show at the NEC in October, where it’ll be fully finished and on the Vanworx stand.

And then… it’s ours. 😃

A new adventure begins… 🚐🥾⛰️

Just back from the most brilliant weekend in Norway 🇳🇴😍

Kayaking, hiking and wild camping in the absolutely beautiful Nærøyfjord — what an adventure!

We booked through @muchbetteradventures and had the brilliant Ryan and Chelsi from Nordic Venture as our guides. Hats off to them for giving all 14 of us the BEST time — and getting us through 22km of kayaking and a 24km hike up to Breiskrednosi Summit, 1,189m above the fjord. That climb was definitely worth it… the view from the top was breathtaking 🤩

We all know each other through @invigor.life and decided it would be a good idea to bring the husbands along for this one 😂 Turns out it was a VERY good idea!

Such a fun weekend — hilarious moments, plenty of red wine, delicious food (all cooked for us by our lovely guides 🙌), tired legs, aching shoulders and a lot of laughs.

A proper adventure with a fabulous bunch of people. We’ve made memories to last a lifetime ❤️

Norway, you were pretty special 🇳🇴🏔️🛶

We’ve just had a brilliant week on flotilla with @neilsonholidays - sailing in the Ionian Sea from Vounaki to Abelike, Sivota, Fiskardo, Filiatro, Karnagios and back to Vounaki.

Our first time sailing (other than some dabbling as a teenager 😉⛵️) - a big thank you to Aggi, our fab skipper for giving us the best week … seriously she needed patience with us 😆 warm seas, lots of swimming, snorkelling, paddle boarding and loads of fun and laughs with the rest of the crews on our flotilla - great cocktails, delicious food, sketchy sleep, slightly unwashed and salty and very proud of our ‘calamity crew award’ 🤣

Thank you @neilsonholidays it’s been a blast - until next time … we’re off home for a rest 😆😍👌⚓️⛵️

We’ve had the best time this weekend - a group of us kayaking Old Harry Rocks with @foreadventure - getting in some sea kayak ‘training’ before a big adventure later in the summer 😉 followed by a spot of camping and exploring the gorgeous countryside around Corfe - perfect weekend 👌

The best week - our usual busy May half term week in Cornwall - this time with only one teenager in tow - times are a changing, we missed the older ‘kids’ 😢 but it’s exciting watching them strike out on their own 😃 (and eldest son did arrive with 3 car loads of mates for the day 😳😆)

We were celebrating multiple birthdays - helping @alysonelms celebrate her 60th … that number is way too big 🤣 we were all in Polzeath 10 years ago celebrating her 50th, special times indeed 😍

We had fabulous meals out, surfed 🏄‍♂️🏄‍♀️🏄🏄 walked, ran, biked the @cameltrail - Padstow to Wenfordbridge return this year with a compulsory stop at @camelvalleyvineyard 🥂🥂- then a spot of fishing 🐟 plus bbqs and lots of sitting in the sunshine 😎☀️ (not forgetting GCSE revision of course 😉)

As always, the joy of the A303 coming home … anyone else??!! But back home now for a rest 🤣😉 can’t wait ‘til next time ❤️
