Bucket list moment complete 🥹🧚‍♀️

Honestly there are no words for the last week. Building community is a hard thing to do, but the best people gravitated towards this retreat and I’m so happy to have shared the very first @recabins retreat with this group of women in Spain 🇪🇸

The theme was connection - to self, to nature, to community and to a playful exploration of creativity 🌱🌺

There was literally no better backdrop for a week exploring nature. Mountains, rivers, wild flowers, eagles, swallows and cats were never far away - reminding us to look up, and rediscover the feeling of awe.

Thank you to the gorgeous @faith_mcallister for bringing wonderful elemental yoga, yin, breathwork and sound to the retreat, strengthening the mind and body connection to nature. Big love for going deep, encouraging vulnerability and a providing a soft landing 💕

HELLOO!! Welcome to my latest project. This isn’t a business this is just for fun! I realised this year that I desperately wanted to see more of the UK, and I want to hike! I’d love for my friends to come with me but sadly that isn’t always possible, so I thought I’d make a group in case there was anyone else like me who wants to fuck about outside more.

My dream is weekends spent in cute cottages, country pubs, unique stays and maybeeee one day taking over a big manor or castle for a weekend with all of the people that might gather around this idea. Obviously the main activity is hiking, rambling and frolicking about in nature. Included extras: making new friends, curing loneliness, gaining confidence and independence, touching moss/grass/trees and maybe learning something along the way.

While the name is ‘girls’ who hike, this is a group for women, trans, non-binary and gender diverse people 🌈

I’ve already organised the first 𝖌𝖎𝖗𝖑𝖘 𝖜𝖍𝖔 𝖍𝖎𝖐𝖊 trip to Wales next month, but if you’d like to join the next one please sign up via the link in the bio!

A summer of French design inspiration. Paris and Marseille, through our eyes.

Paris, a city of beautiful contradictions — the ornament and grandeur of its historic architecture sitting alongside the clarity and restraint of modernism. The sculptural simplicity of Giacometti, the rigorous geometry and raw materiality of Le Corbusier, the playfulness of Monet; coloured glass balconies, softened by aged stone, warm timber, patinated metals and the quiet elegance that feels so distinctly Parisian.

What we love most is the tension between old and new. Nothing feels too polished, too perfect or too considered. Materials are allowed to age, objects have presence, and spaces feel collected rather than composed.

This year has been insane! Started a women’s hiking group and hosted my first retreat in nature! Merging the two hobbies together on our @recabins retreat in Spain this year was truly - s p e c i a l ⛰️

I feel so lucky that I get to bring people together in nature to f*cking feel something. So much of life is a blur of things you can’t remember; the only thing on my agenda is to make this life as full and as special as possible 🌳 ⛰️ 🫂 The rest is just noise.

Two more hikes planned for this year: Hertfordshire (Aug) and Scottish Highlands (October) + some other cheeky collabs in the works.

In May we hosted our very first retreat in Spain. It was a chance to quieten the noise of daily life and connect to ourselves and to nature through hikes, wild swimming, yoga and creativity workshops 🌺

Giving you permission to waste time beautifully. Part 3. ⏯️⏹️⏺️⏮️⏭️

For my birthday my boyfriend got me an old school Olympus micro cassette voice recorder. It had never been used and still in its original packaging from 1984. I now use it to journal thoughts that feel too long to be written in my journal (sometimes my hand can’t keep up with my brain).

I know you can get apps now that do the same thing and then provide you with an ai summary… but I just don’t like the idea giving ai access to my inner thoughts. I prefer this analogue and totally private voice journal. Can’t wait to listen back when I’m 60 and feel nostalgic for now 🫧
