Over the past few years, I’ve realized that what we’re creating is bigger than a single event. these are spaces for the different parts of ourselves and for our babies to grow into

Rooted Together is a space for our community to gather, learn, create, and reconnect. Reconnect with the land, with our cultures, and with one another.

I neva knew a love, love, love a love like thissss!
You ever watch your kids and just think damn. Yall have no idea who’s in your corner. Or the people who came before you. They come from lineages that people TRIED to erase!! And they’re still RIGHT HERE.

The conversation you are longing for exists.

This is for the one who is being pulled to dig deeper within our culture. The parts that we all thought were lost, a thing of the past, or only documented in books (written by others). This is not an interpretation, or from an outside lens.

We humbly ask our community to sit and learn with us 🤎 we are prioritizing accessibility for those willing and wanting to learn.

last night’s womb circle was a space where we got to unapologetically speak. Not just to talk but to be heard. Addressing cycles that NEED to be broken. And sharing how we can do this together. There’s still more than enough room to learn and teach and grow.

I’m still remembering. Learning. And still finding my way back. And honoring that journey

Now my babies will have a path to follow, and the freedom to pick up where I leave off. I may not have all of the answers for them in this lifetime, but I hope I’m building something they’ll be proud of 🤎🤎

Many of us have embarked on our search for a connection to our roots, trying to remember what was never passed down to us.

We search through books, the internet, and whatever pieces of our culture we can find. But so many of these answers live beyond that. It lives through the elders who carry it, the communities that practice it, and the traditions passed from one generation to the next.

Gunita, or Recollection is a learning series created to make this knowledge more accessible.

Through conversations and educational opportunities with our elders and cultural knowledge holders, we create space to learn directly from those who actively live and practice our traditions.

You do not have to navigate this journey alone. The opportunity to learn is here.

As Filipinos in the diaspora we hold a different responsibility. The journey back to self and back home looks a little different. Even against all odds, MAKE THAT CONNECTION. Go home. Learn the language. Learn what you can, and then some. Your body, soul, and lineage will thank you. 🌊🤎

I didn’t realize @josemirasol.photography captured this until going through these pics (my mind is still here btw lol) so much gratitude in my heart I cried looking at my beautiful babies and tried to play it off, not realizing the camera would catch it. But I just remember thinking dang.. I made it!! It’s more than just a flight home.. For me, the Philippines is not just a place. So this month and every month, I celebrate my heritage, my family’s story, and the way I am able to continue their stories and continue learning. With my babies by my side.

Babygirl is finally here!!! Weighing in at 30 lb 🥹🥹watermelon was one of the first things Lani planted a year and a half ago! We thought maybe we just didn’t have the soil to support her or our timing was wrong. So we kept it pushing. This huge vine started growing out of nowhere a few months ago (we didn’t intentionally plant her) and we were like whoa. Hold up 😂

Taste test comin soon 🍉🔥

dance has really helped me to keep my identity- which isnt talked about enough after shedding your old self and becoming a mother. i’m so happy to have my husband and mama in my corner to help me to continue to do the things that I love! so grateful to share this with my babygirl! she went from running through the studio to running drills with me hehe 🫶🏾🌺 love you, “ate sis”
