There was something strange going on with me for a while.

I found myself not wanting to share myself with the world.

I got to a point of feeling completely drained, exhausted, uninspired — I just felt empty.

I knew all the things I SHOULD be doing — exercising, eating well, meditating, sleeping. But I was finding it difficult to take care of myself, and I couldn't figure out why.

Maybe you know this feeling too? That you’re doing so much but it’s never enough.

Then I figured out why I was losing myself completely...

See, it's normal to want to connect to other people, to give our energy & effort to make it possible

But it's draining to give too much of ourselves without getting enough back to refill us — so much that we start to lose ourselves.

It doesn't help that I was hoping for connection with the wrong people — who weren't even connected to themselves.

And worse — in order to meet people where they were, I was lowering my standard for my own life and way of being in the world. I had stopped standing up for my own beliefs, principles and the level of effort that I invested in my relationships.

Perhaps the worst part of all was not knowing when exactly I'd made the subconscious choice to let go of my own beliefs in order to try and "fit in" the way I was told I needed to.

But I realised recently that I'm not the only WOMAN who gets criticised for being "too" picky, difficult, demanding, bossy, high maintenance, and I won't be the last.

And that's NO REASON to lower the bar.

Because as ONE person, I'm not interested in being liked or loved by EVERYONE.

I'm ONLY interested in building relationships that build the kind of world that supports ALL of life, and not just the few who are willing to take advantage of others.

That's why my business is called B-A-D for GOOD —

Because I'm willing to be labeled "BAD" or difficult — for the sake of creating GOOD — long-term positive change that is sustainable not just environmentally, but also emotionally and energetically.

Culture: do we create it or does it create us?

I believe we can intentionally create culture if we put some thought and awareness into it. And that we must take on this responsibility with enthusiasm and determination in today’s modern world.

Culture shapes us, but only if we are unconscious participants in it.

Over the years, I have developed significant expertise in culture, identity, how change happens, the role of ownership, understanding how humans think and work intuitively, and maybe most of all, in challenging our assumptions about ourselves and our society.

And there’s nothing I enjoy more than powerful conversations built on these 3 critical ingredients, that truly shape our culture intentionally:
1. The right people with the right attitude at the table: open, curious, willing to listen and to share
2. The right topic of conversation: important, urgent yet broad
3. The right energetic space: safe, respectful, and yes, feminine (which is different from female)

I’m all in for changing our culture of leading by knowing and dictating answers and strategy - and replacing it one of asking questions, holding conversations, listening and finding the answers together.

This is Feminine Leadership - leading by listening, nurturing, and creating space for the unknown.

And we can’t solve our global issues until we find this form of leadership in ourselves, and cultivate it. Because nobody has the answers, but we can’t find them until we put down our arms and put our hands and hearts together.

Are you willing and ready to cultivate Feminine Leadership in yourself? Drop me a 💗 if you are.

And send me a DM if you want to learn more about HOW. I’m working on something just for you. 💫

Thank you to the Feminine Leaders here, @anne_marietwigge @tjigx @thenextwomen @workingwonders.talks for inviting me to this rich conversation with the amazing @nikivwijk and @awuraabena 🔥💖🙏🏼 — couldn’t have done it without you three. taken in Amsterdam, Netherlands by @moulsari

This was our recent Berlin edition: Salon No. 20 with @Moulsari Jain on “the Productivity Paradox”.

There is something about all the micro decisions we take along a single day that make us experience what is called productivity. We are feeling productive when our inner environment responds well to what we believe our outer aligned calls for. This is fairly straightforward when we are facing a clear commitment, such as holding a presentation three days from now, or filling up the empty fridge before the supermarkets close in the evening. Either we are able to take decisions that will carry us towards fulfilling the commitment, or we aren't.

However, the sentiment during our Salon deviated from this framing. We felt that this is an oversimplified, almost bland way of seeing productivity.

What happens if there is bleak uncertainty regarding what question is calling to be answered? Or when the questions that we identify as genuinely meaningful are just too vast or complex to guide our decisions accordingly? What happens if we need to be unproductive to move?

This is counterintuitive for business thinking, yet an all too contemporary task because of the nature of the challenges we are facing.

Productivity then develops a different flavor. It becomes that kind of productivity artists thrive in. It lies in a courage to confront large or vague questions, perseverance in renewing that question over and over again, the guts to consider all hitherto 'output' as insufficient and to start all over again, overcoming any regret. This is where a much more deeply meaningful productivity hides.

And it turned out that we have dedicated our twentieth Salon to exactly this artistic kind of productivity in all its beauty and glory.

We thank our wonderful speaker Moulsari Jain, our host Marc Hagen Krüttli of VIER iusta, our Sommelière Maria-Elisabeth Niebius of @zest.wine, our colleague Parasheva (@nurichmachpara) and all the lovely personalities who came to join us for bringing this energetic evening together. taken in Berlin by @moulsari

Registration for No. 20 in Berlin has just opened!

On September 9 we will open our doors a next Salon. Turns out that it will be our anniversary! The way we want to celebrate those years of Salons is by dedicating No. 20 to critically reflecting productivity.

Our guest for this round is @Moulsari Jain, an Amsterdam based artist, designer and strategic advisor who works with international organisations on creativity and perception. We cannot think of anyone better to turn our assumptions on productivity upside down.

Those who have been with us before know that the common thread through content and experience will be ‘deliciousness‘. And to those considering joining for the first time: this is the right moment to find what this means.

Join us and celebrate with us. You can get your tickets via link in bio.

We’re starting something new! ✨

Every Thursday, we’ll share a snippet from one of the inspiring talks from previous TEDxBreda editions.

We’re kicking things off with a question:

What did you do this week to truly rest?

In 2023, Moulsari Jain explored on our stage the idea that rest doesn’t equal laziness. Sometimes, taking a step back is exactly what helps us think, feel and create better.

It’s a simple idea, but powerful idea, that could reshape the way we look at work.

What do you think? Do you agree, or do you see it differently? We’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments!

*Limited Edition artwork by Moulsari : B-A-D for GOOD acquired!*

A limited edition stack of Trump US Dollars has been recently acquired by the important contemporary art collection of Christopher Springham FRSA.

Originally a part of the public street installation Red White Blue Deja Vu, 2016, which began its tour in New York City one day before Donald Trump was elected President the first time, and made its way through the cities of London, Amsterdam and Paris by the end of 2016.

The prescient work highlighted the hypocrisy and danger of right wing sentiments, represented by blonde and blue eyed populist leaders, Donald Trump, Boris Johnson, Geert Wilders and Marine Le Pen, rising in the same countries that fought fascism less than 100 years ago.

The installation featured the flags of the four countries collaged to reveal a Nazi swastika emerging in the middle, largely missed by most passersby, distracted by the stacks of money with the leaders’ faces, forming a wall around the installation. After all, the issue is not borders or immigration, it’s money — and greed.

During the installation, the public was invited to take away “free money,” suggesting that perhaps creating universal basic income would reduce the pressure of immigration around the world and minimise the divisive politics that are taking hold of the global economy and planetary well-being.

A decade later, Boris Johnson has been prime minister of the UK, Donald Trump is on the second term of his presidency in the United States, Geert Wilders has won the popular vote in the Netherlands and Marine Le Pen is about to finally get her chance to bat.

As Trump proceeds to put his name on every institution possible, perhaps putting his face on the US dollar bill, replacing Abraham Lincoln, even before he was elected in 2016, was a potent reminder of the power of the artist’s intuition — and warnings — about the direction of society.

The limited edition stack of Trump dollars sits in a custom case designed by the artist, installed in the collection next to none other than Pablo Picasso’s Black Bull, a symbol of the rise of fascism in Europe almost a century ago.

“I have found my calling. This is what I was born to do.”

The first time I guided a group to connect with their internal operating system, and learn to use its power, this is exactly how I felt.

Like I had finally found the thing I was born to do.

Guiding people towards their own inner wisdom and aligned, creative intelligence — by creating and holding a space of safety, of acceptance, of compassion for their humanity.

Because our highest human potential lies right in the middle of our vulnerability — in all the things we avoid, hide from or fear finding out about ourselves.

If they have so much power over you that you feel the need to hide from them — just imagine if you could learn how to turn them into your superpowers.

Every superhero has to learn to use her powers instead of suffering the consequences of uncontrolled power.

It’s my honour and privilege to be the one to guide you to yours.

One participant of this session titled “Preparing for Superhumanity” in 2017 at the first @houseofbeautifulbusiness in Barcelona said:

“Through her gentle expert guidance, Moulsari enabled a very heterogenous group of professionals to quickly explore their inner workings/feelings in what resembled a turbocharged therapy session. No one should doubt that acute self knowledge is essential for effective leadership & her workshop offers a valuable tack on this path.”

In the last 6 years, I have honed and polished my skills further, through my work with established organisations and companies, member networks and startups, and B2B clients for The School of Life.

All in my commitment and passion for helping professionals and teams embrace their full capacity as human beings, in order to do their most meaningful work ever.

And I’d love to help you next. Drop me a DM or contact me through my website www.moulsari.com to discuss your exact needs, for your next management meeting, leadership summit, or organizational town hall.

Last week, I led a half-day intensive on COURAGEOUS CREATIVITY with an innovation agency from Dublin & London.

We had so much fun and engagement, that we forgot to take any pictures. 😅

So here’s a picture of my visualisation of the session in preparation. ✍🏼

As I was designing this custom session to help a business get a new perspective on their own work, I was reminded once again why I ever set forth on this path:

1. There’s nothing as thrilling as guiding a group of people to their best creative work, their most impactful vision, and their highest potential.

2. I love bridging my creative skills as a designer, brand strategist, artist, philosopher and visionary through live experiences with real life people. My workshops are an artistic experience.

3. No matter how creative or innovative someone feels they are, there’s always more to learn and discover. That’s the magic of creativity.

4. For me, meaning in my work comes from broadening the scope and perspective that someone has in what they’re doing in the world. This time, it was in helping creatives become more intentional and purposeful in the social impact they are having on culture and society, by shaping big brands out there.

I loved creating this custom creative session, which ended with 6 different manifestos for the company to work with, each one brilliant, provocative and meaningful in its own way.

And I loved working with professionals from out of town! If I don’t go to London, it can come to me! 😄

Thanks for reading and celebrating this exciting session with me! If it sparked something you need help with, drop me a message!
