Women’s Figure 50+ OVERALL CHAMPION

@_shadow_1one prep & posing athlete and NEW IFBB FIGURE PRO @sandi.benz.581

I’m honestly at a loss for words & full of emotion. This wasn’t built in a few weeks or a few months. This was more than 6 years in the making. Sandi first came to me for posing coaching back in 2020 during COVID & from that point on we continued refining, improving & building year after year.

I watched her work with other amazing coaches, and I was always in her corner….not only as her posing coach, but as someone who genuinely cared about her and believed in her. Deep down, I always believed that if we ever had the opportunity to work together completely, we could get her that Pro Card.

And by the grace of God, we did exactly that…and then some.!!!…Sandi, I am beyond proud of you. You never gave me anything less than 100%. You trusted me, you gave me everything I asked for, and now look where we are.

2 PRO CARDS AND AN OVERALL CHAMPIONSHIP.

I’m so fucking proud of you. WE DID IT.

Please help me congratulate your NEWEST IFBB FIGURE PRO! by @mrcshadows

AND NEWWWWWW IFBB 60+ FIGURE PRO @bex_v

This was not weeks or months, but YEARS of hard work. Rebecca first came to me as a figure athlete for posing, and after working together for a year, we realized how well we meshed. Since then, I’ve had the privilege of coaching her through several shows.

This was our first national show, and going into it, we knew it could potentially be our first and only national attempt. But we gave it everything we had. We trusted each other and put every ounce of effort into this prep, believing that she would become a pro. I’m so happy and proud to say that Rebecca did it! I am beyond proud of her and still emotional writing this.

And NEWWWWWW IFBB FIGURE PRO, @rissa_brianne_ifbbpro 🏆🥇

@_shadow_1one first ever full prep & posing figure IFBB PRO.

So much to say, but I don’t want to get emotional again. I cried earlier already. But man, I am beyond proud of her. When I say she gave it her all, I mean that!

Please join me in congratulation my newest pro, athlete and friend Carissa

“I am lost…” Lost in the music. This is my art.

🎥 8K finals posing routine. by @mrcshadows

Another year, another Halloween, and another memory I’m grateful we got to make together. I don’t get to spend as much time with my family as I’d like. I miss soccer games, karate practices, family get togethers, and barbecues because I’m always working. Even when I make the big occasions, I’m sometimes running late from work. My family always gives me grace, and I hope they know how much that means to me. I wish I could be there more.

Tonight, I got to enjoy trunk-or-treat at church with them. Seeing Saniyha another year older, dressed as a police officer, reminded me how quickly time passes. Who knows?! Maybe that’s in her future? For now, I’m just grateful I got to be part of her Halloween.

I love you, my niece Saniyha, my nephew Angel, my brother Carlos, and my Mom. My favorite holiday with my favorite people. These are the moments I wish I could slow down. 🎃🖤 by @mrcshadows

From sunrise to sunset, I’ve been giving this my all. 6 weeks out, busting my ass every day to bring my best package to the stage. Coach @christuttle.rd is leading the way, I’m just trusting….listening, and doing the work. by @mrcshadows

The art of posing is my passion.
And passion is what I’m all about.

My Classic Physique finals routine. I thought I only got one routine, even though I competed in two divisions. Lo and behold, I found out at check ins Friday night that I could do both. Obviously, I wasn’t going to miss another chance to perform.

I hadn’t prepared a second routine, so I put this together that night, revisiting one I did years ago while practicing my spontaneous posing. A little rough around the edges, but getting the crowd to clap and enjoy the performance is what I strive for. by @mrcshadows

Quarter turns & mandatory poses will ALWAYS be the foundation of competitive bodybuilding posing. After 17 years as a posing coach, that’s the FIRST thing I emphasize to every athlete. I love the artistry and flow of posing routines, but mastering what matters during judging always comes first. A routine should be developed together after understanding your physique, strengths, weaknesses, and presentation, not simply choreographed without knowing the athlete.

Here are a few shots of me going through my quarter turns & mandatory poses in Open Bodybuilding. As a lightweight standing alongside bigger middleweights, I was the smallest guy up there, but I knew how to maximize my strengths, minimize my weaknesses, and pose in a way that allowed me to remain competitive.

And just like that, months of hard work came together onstage. Yesterday, my @_shadow_1one prep and posing athletes, @joshstewartofficial and @mario.c.fit competed at @musclecontest West Coast Naturals & Border States. Congratulations to both of my boys for giving it their all and bringing amazing physiques, presentation, and performances. It’s moments like these that remind me how much I love my job and how blessed I am to do what I do. Proud of you both!

Posing with the boys! You already know Coach had to get in on it

First up, natural @_shadow_1one men’s physique prep athletes @joshstewartofficial making his NPC debut! Josh & I originally worked together on his posing for his first competition on the OCB. He and his previous coach killed that debut, and afterward, he asked me whether I thought he could compete and do well in the NPC. I told him Absolutely! Not just because of his physique and genetics, but because I’d already seen his work ethic firsthand during our posing sessions.

We started working together in March, spending 3 months slowly building and learning his body before beginning a 20-week prep in June. I told him from the start that we were taking our time. With him being a natural athlete, I wanted us to be strategic with our adjustments and give him the time he needed to bring his best. Yesterday, that work paid off with two first places and a second place!

We entered both West Coast Naturals, the tested show, and Border States, the non-tested show. We wanted to challenge him, and I knew he could hold his own with the big boys. You trusted me and put in the work, brother. Proud of you and everything we accomplished together. What a way to make your NPC debut!

Getting @joshstewartofficial pumped up and going over those final posing details before hitting the stage.
