Medal Monday. 🏅
26.2 miles through all five boroughs, and our people crossed the finish line . Proud doesn’t begin to cover it.
@krissykris5 pure joy at the finish.
@devinebeing marathon number four. Made the impossible possible, again.
@iamlshauntay 35 marathons deep. That’s not a hobby, that’s a discipline.

Here’s what most runners get wrong this week: they either do nothing, or they book the deepest massage they can find on day one. Your legs just absorbed tens of thousands of impacts. The first 72 hours are about flushing, not fixing. That means light work, compression, and easy movement. Deeper work comes once the inflammation settles.
That’s exactly how we built our post-race recovery protocol.

A nightclub floor in 2014. A mat, a few dancers, and people asking why a massage therapist was working the room. >>>>> SWIPE >>>>>>
Assisted stretching wasn’t a franchise yet. It was just good bodywork: read how someone moves, find where they’re guarded, and give them range back without forcing it.
The industry caught up. The principle never changed. That’s what I teach therapists now, and it’s still the work I’m proudest of.

A HUGE thank you to @mrgrae @graewellness for my AMAZING pre-race performance session!

With 26.2 miles in 8 days, it’s all about getting my body RACE-READY! Today’s focused recovery and mobility session was EXACTLY what I needed to feel loose, activated, refreshed, and prepared to take on the NYC Marathon!

From the deep sports massage with infrared therapy using his new magnesium aloe massage oil, to the myofascial release, cupping, and infrared sauna bed… WOW! What an INCREDIBLE experience from start to finish!

And BABYYYYY, can we talk about that nap?! 😴😂 That nap was EVERYTHING!!! WHOA!

Training isn’t just about putting in the miles. It’s also about listening to my body, prioritizing recovery, and showing up at the starting line feeling my BEST!

You are incredible @mrgrae THANK YOU!! by @mrgrae

I sat on the Teal Day panel for Courageous Conversations in Healing. That night, Blanton-Peale invited me back to celebrate the people who do this work every day.
What I said on that stage is what I’ve seen on my table for two decades: the mind and the body don’t heal separately. Trauma lives in tissue. Safe, intentional touch is one of the ways we come back to ourselves, and it belongs in the mental health conversation.
Grateful to be in rooms where that conversation is happening. More to come. 🤝🏾

Most conversations about healing skip the body. That’s the part I’ll be bringing to the table.
I’m speaking on the Courageous Conversations in Healing panel with Blanton-Peale, on how what we carry emotionally shows up physically, and why touch is part of the solution.
