What an extraordinary 3 days it’s been enjoying the final programme of The European Pavilion 2024! It was incredible to be immersed in such a rich series of performances, art exhibitions, debates, concerts, literature, get-togethers, and parties - all imagining the future of Europe.

Thank you to everyone who made The European Pavilion 2024: Liquid Becomings journeys and programme so unique! To the artists, speakers, staff, and all who joined us as part of the audience—it was you who brought this experience to life.

One of the most satisfying things about projects like this is all the new artists, and the coming together and exploration of their work and visions. Each one leaves a trace, and something changes…

Liquid Becomings may be officially over, but we’re not done yet - stay tuned for more to come!

Agradecemos a todas as pessoas que tornaram o The European Pavilion 2024: Liquid Becomings uma jornada e programação tão únicas! A artistas, palestrantes, equipe e todos e todas que se juntaram a nós como parte do público — a presença de vocês trouxe vida a essa experiência.

Our ‘SALON FUTUR SPÉCIAL’ will focus on abstract mobility concepts and the associated artistic strategies anchored in the FUTURAMA°LAB.

As part of @viennaartweek 2024, artistic projects of the artists working at the FUTURAMA°LAB will be presented.

As an introduction to the evening, the initiators of the FUTURAMA°LAB activities will provide a status report.
They will talk about the year 2024 as it draws to a close and their plans for 2025.   

Cool drinks will be provided.

From the 7th to the 9th November, The European Pavilion 2024: Liquid Becomings | Imagining the Future of Europe will be packed with performances, art exhibitions, debates, concerts, literature, get-togethers, and parties.

For three days, this multidisciplinary programme that forms the @europeanculturalfoundation’s art biennale will place artistic creation and reflection at the heart of the debate on Europe’s future.

After the four voyages on the Danube, Vistula, Rhine, and Tagus, the curators and artists from the crews have created a space at Palácio do Marquês de Alegrete to document and reflect on their travel experiences during The European Pavilion 2024: Liquid Becomings.

To sail down these rivers is to journey through Europe’s guts, filled with past and present, ruins and construction, nature and society. This exhibition presents these crossings through the attentive and sensitive eyes of the crews, their perspectives in dialogue and friction with one another.

The exhibition will be open during the afternoons of the 7th and 9th November in Lisbon, from 14h to 18h, at Palácio do Marquês de Alegrete, with a special durational presentation on Friday 8th November with all the artists present between 11 - 16h. Free tickets are available at Eventbrite (link in bio). Don’t miss out!

Após as quatro viagens realizadas pelos rios Danúbio, Vístula, Reno e Tejo, os curadores e artistas que integraram as tripulações criam, no Palácio do Marquês de Alegrete, um espaço de documentação e problematização em torno das suas experiências enquanto viajantes.

Navegar estes rios é atravessar a Europa por dentro, pelas suas vísceras, repletas de passado e presente, ruínas e espaços em construção, cheias de natural e social.
Nesta exposição, podemos ver estas travessias pelos olhares atentos e sensíveis das tripulações. E estes olhares atentos e sensíveis das tripulações em diálogo e fricção entre si.

A exposição acontecerá nas tardes de 7 e 9 de novembro em Lisboa, de 14h a 18h, no Palácio do Marquês de Alegrete. No dia 8 de novembro, sexta-feira, teremos uma apresentação especial de longa duração com todos os artistas presentes entre 11h e 16h. Vila Velha de Ródão was our departing point of our journey along the Tagus river in Portugal.
The MES-FUSION ULTRA and crew visited countless beautiful areas and towns with wonderful people. You can see a bit of that on the photos.

We have spent a few days already on the Portuguese stretch of the European Pavilion 2024: Liquid Becomings Tagus route, this time with the MS-FUSION ULTRA version ; )

From the 7th to the 9th of November, The European Pavilion 2024: Liquid Becomings | Imagining the Future of Europe will take place in east and north Lisbon, which includes Doca do Bispo, Quinta Alegre, Biblioteca de Marvila, and Clube Oriental de Lisboa.

For three days, a multidisciplinary programme will place artistic creation and reflection at the heart of the debate on Europe’s future, promoting meaningful dialogues between artists and local communities. The programme will include new work by artists such as Valete, one of the biggest names in Portuguese hip-hop, and acclaimed Portuguese writer Gonçalo M. Tavares.
