💦 It took me a week to reflect on the enormous project I recently took part in – "Liquid Becomings" / European Pavilion, conceived and realized by @espacoagoranow and supported by the @europeanculturalfoundation.

I was part of the curatorial team. Together, we sailed the Tagus River from Spain to Portugal, accompanied by my fellow curator @saltatrix75 and a crew of five artists/researchers: @leila_midori, @nedakovinic, @bogdandjukanovic_, @thermalhouse_publ, and @piotorroja.

Our vessel was the @ms_fusion_air Ultra version, which has no engine. This meant we had to paddle – an exhilarating experience that required us to physically move the boat forward. Huge thanks to our dearest captains @pira__tin and @flo_vago, who are not only skilled skippers but also passionate river artists. They were a great source of inspiration for me!

On November 1st, we arrived in Lisbon for the final event of the project, organized by @teatromeiavolta and beautifully curated by our Portuguese colleague @alfie_machine.🌟 Crews from all four rivers (Danube, Rhine, Vistula, and Tagus (us)) gathered for a week of celebration, sharing experiences, and simply enjoying each other’s company. The week blended meaningful daytime activities with a fantastic music program at night, creating a true celebration of togetherness and community spirit.

The project itself carried a strong concept and vision, which you can explore further at 🔗 liquidbecomings.eu.

For me, personally, this journey was about relentless forward motion, no matter the obstacles. Throughout our river voyage, we never stayed in one place for more than two nights. It was a continuous change of locations, landscapes, and sensations. I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to work with such an extraordinary crew – we sailed, walked, danced, camped, cooked, shared practices, prepared the exhibition, and enjoyed countless moments of joy and silliness together over the course of nearly four weeks.

A piece of wisdom I gained: “There’s the flow, but also the dams. In life, too. Find a way to keep moving.” ⛵
