An ‘02 baby turned 22 🥂

NOVEMBER always brings forth a month of reflection…
I always take a moment to reflect, regroup, and refocus. When looking back on the chapter that I’m closing, I always ask myself…

- what did I accomplish?
- what brought me joy?
- what brought me peace?
- who are *my* people?
- who was a lesson?
- who was a blessing?
- what did I learn?
- how did I push myself out of my comfort zone?
- what mistakes did I make?
- what goals did I cross off my list?
- what books did I read?
- who poured into me?
- who distracted me?

And of course, what am I going to do to move my needle forward in this new chapter? 🤔

Growth is the evidence of living and one thing that’s mandatory for me is continued growth. MOTION IS MANDATORY.

A wise person once said “if you’re not green and growing, you’re ripe and rotten.” Noted.

a feeling of fellowship with others 🖤

a room full of faces that looked like home. good music, deep conversation, and people showing up as their full selves.

brought a disposable camera so I wouldn’t reach for my phone all night. no retakes, no edits, just moments on film 🎞️

thank you @nigelmarcellus for curating and creating rooms like @clubvulnerability that remind us of how beautiful it can be to be vulnerable, authentic, and truly *us*

As I’ve been digging back into my work with @theyouthwillbeallwrite, I’ve been very intentional about finding restorative reads that challenge me and reframe how I view justice and what I *think* I know about reform.

This week’s reads (and watches) reminded me that reform starts with recognition. Recognition that these kids, are still kids 🧡

If we’re serious about reform, we have to be willing to unlearn and de-stigmatize.
