Allow me to reintroduce myself….My name is “Ms. Washington” aka muvaearly and I am a mindfulness educator/community organizer with a high level of experience in collaborative learning & specific interest in children with special needs and marginalized identities. I am very passionate about yoga & equitable wellness.

I have been creating comprehensive mindfulness and social- emotional learning programming for Atlanta Public Schools for almost 6 years. I provide weekly Mindful Movement classes for students and staff grades K-12. I offer restorative practices for positive behavioral support, mindfulness intervention programs and virtual trauma informed educator trainings that has equipped educators with knowledge and skills to recognize and respond to students having issues related to trauma. I am an advocate for the wellness of educators & support staff. I love to partner with nonprofits and local businesses by providing Mental Health Check- In & Self awareness workshops for teens. For Juneteenth week I’ll be offering Chair Yoga for Elders at the @theapexmuseum ✨✨✨

When: June 16th @ 12pm
Where: 135 Auburn Ave NE
Atlanta, GA 30303

The APEX Museum (“African American Panoramic Experience”) is a museum of history presented from the black perspective. It is located on Auburn Avenue in the Sweet Auburn historic district of Atlanta, Georgia. The Apex Museum was founded in 1978 by my friend Mr. Dan Moore.

It is an honor to be apart of their wellness team. The Apex Museum is doing great work for our community and I’m happy to be heavily involved. We are creating access to healing modalities for Black and Brown folks. After all the work starts at the ROOTS.

I’m grateful to serve our elders right here in Atlanta by offering chair yoga.

Chair yoga for seniors is a modified form of yoga that allows seniors to practice traditional poses while sitting or standing with the support of a chair. This modification makes yoga more accessible and gentle for those with limited mobility or balance. It helps improve flexibility, strength, and balance, while promoting relaxation through breath. 🪑🧘🏾‍♀️🧘🏾‍♂️
